Lizardmen warband

Hi, im a long time skaven player (as in "i only ever played skaven") and im about to start a new campaign. This time i want to try out something new, and i would like to try the reptiles.

my only problem, im not really sure where to get the minis.
I never really converted anything (well, i did convert an old skaven warrior in a skaven priest for my band) so im looking for something really easy to work on (or better, to dont work on at all).

in short, i need advice on what minis to get, where to get them and how to convert them if needed :p
edit: i forgot, in europe! dont like to spend half my money on postage

short bow (or javelin?)

me and my friends are not really picky on wysiwyg (half my friend band is only empty bases lol) but if i have to buy new stuff, of course id like it to be what im gonna use.

any advice?

I bought mine off the GW site
Just a big pack of skinks with javelins/blowpipes (a friend had some old skinks with bows, dunno where to get those)
Bought a skink priest for the priest (duh) and 2 other skink single models for the great crests (some priests also, with sickle-daggers and shields)
Then I bought saurus (sauri?) seperately since you only need 5 - bought em all with shield and sword.
And then ofc a kroxigor

It's about 4-5 years ago, but back then it cost me around 130 euro incl shipping to Denmark from UK

I also went with Games Workshop. I had lots of the skinks with bows left over from the 4th edition Warhammer starter set and a bunch of the old style saurus as well. Since they were a starter set army I would think that they would show up on e-bay or similar sites.

Other wise Reaper has their Reptus line for warlord and they used to have a bunch of Lizardmen warriors in their main line as well.

Blacktree did a Warhammer rip off of Lizardmen back in the 90s which is still available.

I would go with the short bow on the skink priest. He doesn't want to be too close to any enemies, ever.

I do arm any of my skinks that gain a Strength with javelins later in the campaign. Bolas are a waste as far as I can tell, just like blow guns.

Does blackdagger on eBay do single Saurus/Temple Guard models? You could try there, it beats buying a whole box for only a few dudes.

Well, the notorious Waylandgames only has boxed sets which wount help you much for Mordheim. Most Internet Retailers give 10% off. There is Ebay of course. An ebay shop that is supposed to be good is this one:

I have, for the OP, provided a direct link to the lizardmen single models, but they do all sorts - I've done all kinds of warbands including or mostly based on single models purchased from blackdagger. Of course, a few extra bitz help make them your own.

You can pick up the metal skink heroes quite cheap on eBay too - just buy a dreadfully painted one and leave it in dettol overnight

For my Lizard warband I used models from Dragonblood Miniatures (now Cavalcade Miniatures). They have great skink models called Troglodytes and models for Saurus called Lizardman. Here are some pics
