Hello my fellow T.B.M.F'ites. This is the start of my mass Warband build-a-thon.

I intend to paint up four warbands and a gaming table (that will eventually end up in the Terrain section).

First of all let me introduce the "Vagabond Sons" of fair Estalia. This warband is under the current leadership of Bernardo De La Rosa; Bad Bernardo to himself, to the men of the Empire Bloody Bernard and to me and my mates Bernardo the Bottler (you can probably guess why)

First up some painted henchmen

Feed The Yak and He Will.... Paint (Hopefully) 054-2
Feed The Yak and He Will.... Paint (Hopefully) 056-2

Next up for painting some more henchmen and a warhound

Feed The Yak and He Will.... Paint (Hopefully) 066-2
Feed The Yak and He Will.... Paint (Hopefully) 068-1
Feed The Yak and He Will.... Paint (Hopefully) 071-1

The rest of the gang are under-coated black and not worth showing yet but include Dolores Cascharillo (Double D) and Crazy Carlito, two heroes who are iching to take over the Gang and prove that they know how to take a route test!

I appologise for the photos they are taken in poor natural light. I will take some better photos when I get a chance and have something new to share with you

Very nice! Are those commercially available base toppers or did you make them yourself?

+1 to Citizen Sade's question about the bases, they are really nice.

But a huge +1 to you for the painting, looking good particularly the faces!

Thanks for the positive feedback folks Smile

Regarding the bases I originally purchased a few resin bases from the following link Style B. If they don't have the sizes you want you can message them a request.

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Wizard-Workshop/Warhammer-Bases-/_i.html?_fsub=2867970011&_sid=165748891&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322

Then I found the plasticard that had been used in the construction and started to make my own here is a link. Its called Wills York Stone Paving.

http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/wills-york-stone-paving.html

I intend to use it when I make my gaming board just small sections of paving dotted around the board to make it look like the remnants of a once well maintained city.

Excellent paint jobs and superb choices for the models. I'm always up for combining new and old - and ancient - when it comes to miniatures. Or, as the British say, "variety is the spice of life".

Thanks for the Antenocitis link. How big is one sheet? I would be very interested in getting something that could cover a whole board, or big part of it.

Sheet size: 13cm x 7.5cm

Average 4 sheets.

~1.6mm thick (varies with texture)

Thanks for all the nice words!

@ JoaoS: The sheets can be bought from Modelmaniacs cheaper than RRP

http://www.modelmaniacsonline.co.uk/search.php

I have just bought 10 packs for under £30 and I intend to pave certain areas of my table like the docks and town square. It might be to expensive to attempt to cover a whole board.

OK a small update. I have been mad busy at University for the last few weeks so have not yet managed to do more painting Crying or Very sad

Here are some of Averland warband ready for paint. The Blue Reach Buccaneers renowned mercenaries who prey upon the merchant vessles of the River Stir and River Aver. Come to Mordheim for a change of scenery....

You've got yourself quite an array of interesting pieces. Although the Captain has a slight edge for personal favorite in the group, they all have TREMENDOUS potential. Have FUN with the painting when time allows. What a Face

BTW, is there any particular reason why you have the shields on backwards? clown

@ DeafNala: Ha yeah its to get the wood grain effect. I will make a green stuff boss for the centre of each one. I intend to paint them the same colour as the wooden planks that they so often have to walk when they get caught committing piratey like offences. Of-course they never actually fall off the plank that's the cue for all their buddies to rescue them and then they do the catapulting light sabre (mace) manoeuvre! The Stir River Patrol fall for it every time....

Keeping the wood grain would have been my guess. I always thought it was a waste having that nice texture hidden close to the minis body. clown
I like the old "fool-them-with-the-fake-walk-off-the-plank" trick...devious piratical minds. pirat
