| a few days after asking about bandits, now I'm pursuing another idea... an Arabian-themed warband. Mostly sparked off because I really like this miniature: I worked out how to make henchmen that vaguely match the above model - I'm going to convert a bunch of plastic high elves. But I can't find many/any Arabian type models that would make good heroes. Assuming I'm already familiar with everything that Reaper has done, do you guys know of any other good models that might represent the sons of the desert? | |

| Oooh. Nice. I've heard that Helldorado models are a bit on the large side for 30mm scale, but I want my heroes to be big and imposing, so that's actually a plus. | |

| SerialMoM used some of the Helldorado and Reaper Minis for an Araby/Khemrian Warband. There is a groupshot somewhere on page two where you can see that they fit rather nicely: https://boringmordheimforum.forumieren.com/t4922p25-arabian-tomb-robbers-all-finishedSo you are right, they might be slightly taller, but hey, your Reaper Mini is a lady, she should be a bit smaller! If you want more smaller minis, for more henchmen maybe, I think GWs LotR-line has some nice minis also. | |

| Hey there. She's a nice mini, never seen her before. I like the look of the Artizan Moors. Though they may be a bit smaller others. I'm also working ( slowly ) on an Araby warband using the merchants caravan list from BTB, have a peek at the link in my sig. HE archer legs with marauder torsos rock. | |

| This Ogre Maneater of Araby has just been re-released. You might have more trouble with these but Al Muktar's Desert Dogs are perfect. There's a guy called Lew_b81 on Warseer whose done some nice GreenStuff conversions: | |

I looked at the LotR guys... to be frank, I think it would be more work getting them to not look weirdly tiny next to heroic-scale models than it would be to convert high elves. Also, the high-elves already have the combination of robes and shin-length armour that sort of matches the Reaper cleric I posted above. To convert them, I intend to file down the tops of their helmets (for spearmen) or the sides of their heads (for archers) and then model on turbans and suitably fluttery bits. Maybe change their sleeves a little as well. | |

| Just to throw one other manufacturer into the mix, Gripping Beast does a bunch of historical minis and some might fit the bill. Problem is, I don't own any so I'm not sure how they'll fit, scale-wise. The ranges that looked most useful to me were: Moors from the El Cid range and Dismounted Timurid Cavalry | |

| Very interesting stuff, Ordo Septenarius.
Captain Bernhardt, thanks for the Mega Minis link. And don't let the basic paint job they did on the models put you off. Mega Minis are generally very good miniatures and quite cheap too.
