Wow. They look ... erm ... beautiful... assuming that this is possible with Skaven.
(Now what I need is a couple of Marauders of Chaos pictures with such great models which I could use for the Border Town Burning supplement.... no one?)

| Thanks guys! @ Cianty: What do you mean "assuming that this is possible with skaven"? I think the models are really nice! (OK, Veskit is an incedibly ugly peice of metal, but that's it). What don't you like about them? @ Erkwin: since i can't make fresh pics of my stuff, I went into my Mordheim picture folder (6GB!) and dug out as many pics with this building on them as I could find. I hope that helps you! Let me know... | |

| Oh great! That's perfect, thank you Tom! I've wanted to build a tower-like building for some time now, but I could figure out what it should look like. This is just perfect, I'll post my results as soon as I've finished it (most likely next summer ) | |

| What I meant is that unlike you have a very scarry fetish you wouldn't consider the dirty ratlings to be "beautiful", would you?
(of course they are beautifully painted, though!)

| Hey JohnYoung! Thank you very much fot the compliment! *blush* No, no, I never use white undercoat. Always black. There has been a time where I have used brown undercoat, but since i couldn't find brown spray anymore (has GW stopped producing it?!) I went back to black. For the skin I formerly used "snakebite leather" as a base colour. Now I use "uniforme inglés" (="English Uniform") form Vallejo as a base colour which I lighten up to pure elf flesh. (I have tried dwarf flesh, but it never looked good the way I used it...). If you go up gradually , by the time you reach layer #4 the pure elf flesh should cover the darker layers easily. | |

| I converted a lot of skeletons some time ago, to lay around on a battleground, and we use them in nearly every Mordheim game. | |

| That's a sweet symbol on the shields. How did you come up with that?
I'm trying to come up with a symbol... my old one was a two tailed comet in the middle of the shield and white teeth on the top and bottom...
thanks | |

| Actually that is a very classical skaven rune found on many skaven models. I chose that shield however because I like the fact that the rune was already on it and in relief. I just mailordered the "old" skaven warlord's shield 12x BAM! | |

| Yes. Gotta love the Skaven swastika symbol... oO Seriously, skaven are like Nazis. They don't only use this symbol, they also like to gas their enemies (as described in the Warhammer armybook). And they keep slaves. Geez. I always thought Skaven are a bit too sick and evil bastards. I hate them. Chaos on the other hand is cool - evil dudes for all the right reasons. | |

Well I have heard this comparison before and I don't think it holds any water. And just to make this clear, the swastika is (as you probably know) originally a hindu symbol, that has been stolen by A.Hitler, who "tilted" it to the left and put it up on his flag. The swastika (or swastika-like emblems) has been found in hindu, budhist and even early christian religions. It is a symbol of luck and good omen. But most importantly, the swastika has FOUR branches. And not THREE as the Skaven rune. It is therefore not a proper swastika, albeit reminiscent of it. I think comparing skaven to nazis is a bit far fetched. I do not believe that the creators of the Warhammer World thought about the the nazi regime when they created the skaven. If you really want food for though, I suggest you lay off the poor Skaven for a while and go think about the "Smurfs" reminding you of the KluKluxKlan. Think about it: All wear white pointy hats, there is one leader with a red pointy hat, only one girl, and their greatest enemy is Gargamel and his cat Azrael (greedy characters, lusting for power, with crooked noses and... both have jewish names, or sounding like jewish names)... Oh and... I love Skaven

| Actually, the swastika existed in Hindu Religions and, more important, the Germanic culture(that's why Hitler choose it). But as you sad, Admin Tom, it was turning right, as a sign of order and peace. The left turning sun-cross, which was used by the Nazis, is a sign of chaos and war. | |

| I think they used both left- and right-turning versions of it. And I always thought it was a symbol for the sun. I remember watching an old chinese easten (= kung fu movie) on TV where there was this super fighting monk who had a huge swastika on his robe. i was very confused and surprised. My skaven comment wasn't meant to be taken that seriously. More like a provoking spark for discussion. Glad it worked. Check this out: About the smurfs: I've heard of them being compared to a communistic society. If you care have a look at this site or something similar you find on google: http://www.angelfire.com/mo/potatofarm/smurf.html | |

Yes it is a symbol for the sun. In Hindu Tempels in East Asia it is still used very often(or, to be more exact the symbols are very old and still there). But I'm quite sure Nazis only used the left turning version, because it looks like two S-runes put on each other(I guess you know why). The picture...
