| For some reason I think I asked this before, but anyways:
It dawned on me I may have been searching for rare items wrong all this time. The way I had been doing it was:
Declare Model is searching. Determine item to be searched for. Roll for rarity. Buy if rarity found. Otherwise go home and drink a pint.
But I reread the rules and realized it could be: Declare model is searching. Roll Rarity. Pick an item of that Rarity or less. Buy if desired.
Are either of these correct? Or did I miss it twice?

| We have allways played it like the first example, never questend it... I think that is the right way to play, but will have to re-read the rules to be sure...

| You are right the first time - nominate however many are rolling for the thing and then roll each ones to see if you roll equal or more than their rarity. | |

| We had the same discussion and stayed with your first method. But we allowed to roll the variable price and then you can decide to buy.
Example: all 5 heroes are searching for blessed water H1: rolls 5 H2: rolls 9, costs 10+4 H3: rolls 7, costs 10+16 H4: rolls 3 H5: rolls 10, costs 10+9
after hat you can decide just to buy the (two) cheapest or to buy all of them.

| First method but it is making me wonder if the second method is intended - after all that is fairly similar to how necromunda works where you roll to see what is there befoire buying. | |

| I thought it was the first. You are looking to see if a rare item is available, not looking to see what rare items are available. | |

| We play the first way too. However we play that if you searched for an item and couldn't find it/ it wasn't available you couldn't search for it again with another hero. ( merchant......" I just told your friend.... I DON'T HAVE ANY LUCKY CHARMS!! " | |

| That is pretty much how it is in the book. When searching you have to nominate everyone searching for the same item and then roll for all of them. You don't *have* to buy what any of them roll though.
Or, at least I thought it was in the book. Can't seem to find that now so maybe it was a houserule after all.

| Or group plays it like the 1st, but with a twist:
Hero 1 declares what he is looking for. Hero 1 rolls for rarity. If he rolls high enough, then he may buy it.
Hero 2 then declares what he's looking for (etc.)
Thus, you need to know what you want before you roll, but you can wait to see if the other heroes are passed or failed before you roll for the next hero. That way, you can decide that the Warhorse may wait - it's more important to pick up a Lucky Charm, which Hero 1 failed to get.

No, everyone does not have to search for the same item. We used to play Smokezombie's way, but there was a revolution and now we play as StyrofoamKing describes.

| Ok then my usage will be as Styrofoam King described there. It makes sense from a gaming perspective. Keeps it simple and still fun. Best of both worlds! | |
