Need help: How to paint dark and medium dark skin?

Hello,

the search function did not gave me a hit.

I want to paint some arabian models with medium dark skin and some african models with even darker skin.

What i need is a tipp which base colour i can use. After the base painting i will use the army painter to " work out" the details.

In this step the skin will become darker.

So hope somebody around her is able to help me.

Well, Snakebite Leather and Dark Flesh are the colours recommended by Jenova.

For cathayan skin, I used bestial brown followed by snakebite leather and bleached bone, for dark skin it's scorched brown followed by scorched brown/desert yellow and highlighted with desert yellow.

Yeah start Darker and then layer on lighter colors. It might take a couple tires to get it right. Also remember that some skin tones have more Yellow or pink in them. So there is nothing wrong with mixing a little pink or yellow into the mix.

Also the other tips on this pahe are very usefull.

As you may have seen in my WIP Aribian Tomb Robbers thread it worked out more than fine.

I can't tell you how happy i am that this color scheme worked out so well.
