Charging through models?

The rule says that you can move through your allies when charging. But is this also true when they are engaged in hand to hand.

I mean - the character is swinging his weapon and erratically moving - isnt it a bit dangerous to move so close to your friend ?

No you wouldn't be able to charge through a HtoH combat. You could join into it, if you could reach the enemies base.

But if there was a small bridge for example with only room for 1 figure, the path would be effectively blocked.

If its not in the rules,I maybe read this in the Q&A or FAQ somewhere...

We play that you cant charge through friendly models in HTH, you have to go around, and there must be enough room for the models base to fit through or the move is not legal.

Otherwise , as you are creeping through a small gap, your "friend" could take your head off with his backswing.
