I am wanting to add a bit more character to one of my champions to fit in line with my fluff. THis is the chap in mind. Spectacles Img_2012
What I want to do is give him some spectacles. I believe wire would probably work the best, but the only wire I have is far too thick.
So I'm bringing this to you, my venerable peers. What are your thoughts and ideas?

Check the jewelry section of a good craft store like Michael's. You should be able to use either jump rings with or without a stem, or thin wire if you want to shape the frames yourself. What a Face

Ah, Michael's. I love that place, particularly around the holidays when they break out those Halloween and Christmas Town displays... most of it is overpriced, but some of it works really well for minis. :3

Anyway, I find the best way of making spectacles is to forget the frame and just concentrate on the glass - maybe try putting small circular discs of paper or Green Stuff on either side of his nose. Painting them well can make them look like glass. You could try to make them look semi-clear, painting the flesh detail behind them magnified slightly, with a slash of white glare, but I've found its far easier to just paint them dark as if they're shades and caught the sun and are glinting.

I think one of the pistoliers models wears a monocle so you could look at that for ideas. Milliardo's idea of using discs and painting them would work well. I think you may need to shave down the eye are a bit to get the discs siting flat on the face like real spectacles.

Good luck with this project. The model you've shown looks good and I'd love to see him with spectacles.

I would agree with the previous two speakers. Making spectacles out of wire would probably just make the character look like a raccoon or some nerdy kind of Zorro. Green Stuff, I think, is the way to go.

Thanks everyone for the responses! This has given me some good ideas. I'll post what I've done sometime in the future.
