Good Cameras for minis?

I no longer have access to a good camera (I'll miss you, SLR...). The only thing I have access to is an older camera that takes bad photos. So, it's time for me to finally purchase my own digital camera. The thing is, I wouldn't use it for pictures of anything other than minis/terrain so I don't want to go too expensive. I need something that will take good pics though.

Anyone have any suggestions on a good camera for minis that isn't $500-1000?

The only help I can give is an old camera, only about 3.3 megapixels.
The one I use I bought to take real close-ups of minis with.
You can put a mini within less than an inch and still get a great picture. Super Macro.

Anyway it is a Fuji Finepix S602Z.
Uses AA batteries, get rechargeable ones.
They don't still make them but you can get a used one for anywhere from $100 to $300.
