Mo!'s black is beautifull baby!

A little progress... I really like the front, the back seems a bit blah...








Not sure about the blacklining to... sort of like it on the head on the rest not so much...

Any ideas?

If you want to jazz up the back of him then maybe colour in the glyphs on the back of his shoulders in a shade that will link him to a tribe/ the rest of the warband.

Good idea... still wip so a lot of details need some love!

What did you make the little latches which hold the weapons in place out of? Is it some kind of pipe that's been cut?

It's made of plastic tubing from a model train store cut in half... thanx for the kind replies...

As i'm an incredible slow painter i'm gona try and batchpaint these suckers...

Had a bit of time on my hands today and even though none are completely finished i have now a grand total of 4 almost painted blackorcs!

Insted of the usual unpainted crap i usually put up with!

He looks JUST AS COOL here as he does in the Gallery. Again VERY WELL DONE!

The painted photos look a little dark, but from what I can see it looks like you did a good job on the weathering.

If you are not happy with the washes you can always try to layer washes. Red for the rusted look then a light grey / black to get it more gritty looking.

I have seen that used to good effect.

I think this warband will kick ass-- no doubts.

Oh I really love my blackorks as they have been on their best behavour last week I build them a shoota (ok hes gonna need some skillz and lucky rolls for rare equipment but still):

And for empire in flames a boss on boar!

Awesome models there mo. I'm paintng some black orcs for mordheim as we speak and these are really encouraging conversions!

It makes me wish i'd bought the black orc plasticset. But i got the orc warriors set because i aimed to create a normal orc warband and a tougher looking black orc warband aswell. Also the boar rider is ace! Wish i had some of those new models myself.

Quick question: Are black orcs skin colour differant than normal orcs? I think they are meant to be a darker green right?

The rest´s cool as well, of course, once it´ll be a black orc warband everyone´s gonna be really afraid of.

over the years it kinda changed... black orcs used to have a lot of fur all over... then gw painted them black with a slight dark green highlight... then there was a period they claimed that orcs got lighter skin as the got older and bigger... (not sure of they used this on black orcs though?)

I painted mine with the foundation green and alot of badab black and orkhide shade...

I like the way you paint you're orcs.... they look dangerous!!! But last time i managed to dodge some DIVE atttacks.... and they died falling down
