I dont think slings are broken either.

Additionally you aren't going to see many skaven heros using slings over their other options as they would more than likely want to get in close.

ie. Fighting Claws

Weeping Blades ...
Warplock pistol and throwing stars...

Another fav discussion!

Well, making sure I stick to the subject here, yes, otehre weapon combos are far more tempting, though I would house rule that you get Fighting Claws, you cant wear a secondary weapon such as sling (maybe throwing knives as the fingers are free), cuz the rules say they are cumbersome and bought in pair etc etc. They are, literally, glud to your hands.

Weeping blades though... makes me crap my pants a little...

You don't have to house-rule it - it is already part of that weapon. If you have Fighting Claws you don't get to have any other weapon - close combat or ranged.

That is the reason I didn't say Warplock or Weeping. Both of those can be used together. And, I would definitely strive to arm my Assassin with both when I have sufficient income. MUCH better choice than slings.

Yeah, I was just unsure what the rules said as I did not have the book in front of me. Thansk for clearing it up though Smile

I generally don't assign fighting claws for that reason - too restricting.

I like to assign one pair to my mass-attack specialist. 4 attacks, 1 from the claws, 1 from the Art of Silent Death, 1 Combat master, 1 from Pit Fighter and you can cut a bloody swathe through everyone's meat shields.

My skaven like the idea of shooting you down at a nice, safe distance...
