| I've been noticing that the warbands that people post pictures of on the forum appear to be significantly larger than the starting bands I can field using the build costs in the rule book. Are these not beginning warbands, or are a lot of people using higher gc totals to start with? | |

| They're only starting warbands for one game so it makes sense to build all you'll need or atleast a few extras as you'll know from the start what you'll eventually need. Unless you get uber zombies.
I'm building atleast 16 to include the extra guy you can have from a halfling thief. | |

| Well, for me, when I take pictures of my warbands. I have more minis then allowed for a Warband just because I have painted more for the different variations in warriors, weapons, or equipment as my Warband goes and changes. And of course for specialty characters in a Warband, that are out of the ordinary. Examples are like my Skaven minis with a crossbow pistol, one with handgun, and another with Dwarf Axes. What I’m getting at is, you may only have 12 warriors in your band, but why not take a group picture of all 20 minis painted? | |

| For campaigns, it is best to have several minis painted up that represent just one character as he progresses and gets better equipment and armor. I used two minis to represent my skaven leader. One when he started out, and them another with full armor. I also made some mounted and dismounted figures for another warband. | |

Yeah, painting the same mini twice (one mounted and one unmounted version) must be pretty much the most boring thing one can do with a mordheim miniature. Besides that, all of the above speakers say it all: Minis may not be actual warband, but theya re all potential miniatures to use |

| I'm the same as everyone else; I aim to paint enough models for the maximum number of each type of warband member that I will ever need, even if that means I end up with more models than I can take at one time! For Orcs and Goblins this is 20 Orcs (including 4 Heroes and a few exceptional-looking Boyz for "That Ladz Got Tallent"), 1 Troll, 1 Ogre Bodyguard, 1 Pit Fighter, 1 Warlock, 5 or 6 Goblins. I haven't done any Squigs for any of my Orc Warbands... yet. Here's an example of extra models that you can't use all the time: Mung-Qi was the Boss of my Cathayan-themed Orc Warband. He was killed in the "Bell, Book and Candle" campaign and I wanted to bring him back: in keeping with the Chinese-style background he was reincarnated as a Henchman and I painted a new model of him. When he eventually got LGT I stopped using the Orc Boy model and went back to the Boss model. | |

| I usually try to paint-up a couple of options. You never know how a champaign is going to pan out so it's good to have options. Nothing is more annoying then getting another henchmen, and then being like... ok what model should I use? Like with my Lizardmen I had quite a few skinks with different options. So that way if some of my guys died, or if I wanted to swap their weapons choice I could. My Orc warband I had a few options so that if I decided to have a group of bowmen I could, or if I wanted Spearmen I could have them as well. Right now I am putting together my Marauders and I am making a couple options so that they are more WYSIWYG. I have to say that WYSIWYG can be a little annoying when you know that you don't have enough to buy a bow for everyone, but next game you will, so should you add the bow now? or wait? or make two guys one with and one w/out? | |
