| A Cathayan Ghost Story14th January, the year of the Earth Ox, Wyrdstone Hunt at the Boarding Party Inn. “Vengeful spirits of the ancestors!” cried Pa-lai. “Have no fear, wretched dogs!” said Mung-Qi “We can still grab the treasure before those shambling hordes come close.” Yu-Dan blew onto his fingers and Cloud Trapezed across the walled garden, grabbed a piece of Wyrdstone that had been sitting on the fountain and started running back towards the pirate’s lines. As the heroes picked up two more shards and fell back the rest of the crew gathered into two groups, ready to rush out and stop the advancing horde. When the horde kept on coming anyway Mung-Qi called a full retreat. ± The Gloomwyrms managed to steal three out of four Wyrdstone shards from the clutches of the advancing horde of ghouls and zombies. Pig-Xi lost an eye and Yu-Dan suffered a chest wound. ±

| Yup! Technically I lost as I chose to rout, but I got a load of loot out of the game. I'm saving up for a Troll now! More reports and photos to come - we had a busy day at the Mill yesterday! | |

| The Grapes of Rat14th January, the year of the Earth Ox, Breakthrough to Slippery Jack’s Cave The Gloomwyrms waited in the failing light and gathering fog for the on-rushing ratmen to come to them. Mung-Qi leant against a crumbling wall and listened to the sound of scuttling clawed feet on cobbles grow nearer. Suddenly they were surrounded! Giant Rats swarmed around their feet, biting at their ankles and leaping out of the way of the Orc’s clumsy weapons. Pa-lai charged forward and met the Skaven hero’s advance. While the Gloomwyrms were distracted by the Giant Rats a load of the Skaven slipped past them. Yu-Dan Cloud Trapezed into the ruined Bretonnian Chapel. There was a bang as a Black Skaven fired his Warplock Pistol at the scarred Orc pirate but the bullet skipped off the wall next to him and he charged the surprised-looking ratman and felled him with a kick to the knee. Yu-Dan chuckled and impaled the unfortunate, prone Skaven. With that the Skaven fled and the Gloomwyrms took control of the harbour-side near Slippery Jack’s Cave (their first new territory since they came ashore in Vercuso!) ±

| "Alors! Wally ma petite monkey, go explore the wondrous streets of Vercuso and make your mark upon this town. Papa has some business to attend to" The latest reviews had been a little poor, Chuck Norris' routine resulted in him being chased down by a group of mercenaries fresh off the ferry... and some pink-eyed poshos had been throwing pointy sticks at the marching band. But Where's Wally? Wally the fecal monkey Had a habit of 'producing presents' and giving generously, usually at range. Oook? Ook Ook? Oooooooooooooooook! Hal Kandar of the Red-Eyed Knights took an unusually long time to clean his armour that night " The smell just will not go away!" | |

| The Red Eye Knights - The Beanbag wrote:
- "I fear the cosmos has suffered a terrible blight of late. My armour itches." Xan Goon, recently anointed Red Eye Master after the untimely death of Jo-Roobchan some nights ago, shifted uncomfortably. "Our powers are weak in these dark streets, I am more tired than usual."
Hal Kander merely looked up from his economy jar of Buff-o armour polish, bleached rag in hand, muttering something about 'little hairy bastards'. "I have had mystic guidance concerning a large gathering coming soon. We must investigate brothers and eliminate any threats"
From all street entrances, the beasts continued to come, some with horns, some with long hairy arms and prehensile tails. The disciplined knights mustered their calm and inner powers but the hoofed monstrosities were too powerful. Hal Kander, in one last desperate defence cried out 'if you strike me down now, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine'. It didn't fool the beastman who simply cleaved the knights head cleanly in two.
Over the battlefield a lone form shuffled rooting through the detritus of the fighting. At one point it stopped, stooped, then straightened with a helmeted, gory head in one clawed fist. The helmet was pure white with suspicious brown stains on one side. Another search and the body was retrieved and dragged away by hungry looking ghouls. Flesh never rests easy in Vercuso. - The Beanbag wrote:
- Only 7 men returned to the farms on the outskirts of town that night. Not a word was spoken. Heads were slumped, cloaks wrapped tightly about tired bodies.
As the knights and acolytes approached the small tilled fields around the farmstead, the earth trembled and clods sprouted from the ground. Then clanks and thumps could be heard and suddenly a great chunk of turf and mud was thrown into the air revealing a dirty hairy head poking above the new hole. In the dank noxious air on that side of town a green miasma hung low to the ground and turned all to a sickly green hue. Xan Goon stood transfixed as the harbinger of doom, the Red Eye Knight's messenger of the end of times emerged from the ground right in front of him! "Yod-o?" he stammered in reverential and fearful tones. "Ergh, the Mountains of Morn this is not. The right place we have found not, ergh hehehehe?" The squat, green, hairy figure coughed, spitting out earth and grass. "Sorry got some mud stuck in me throat. Not sure where we are. We were looking for the Mountains of Morn and seem to have surfaced near Dag Obar instead. Would you tell us where we've come up, humans."
After such a grim battle, to have the premonition of the end of times, Yod-o himself, appear in front of him was too much for Xan Goon and he and his men fled the farms back to Tatouaine.
"Well lads, looks like we got the place to ourselves now. Lets get settled and go explore at first light. The Underminers have some treasure-hunting to do!" | |

| VERY, VERY NICELY DONE! The Arcane Trio & Friend were worth the wait...more or less. The free hand work turned out TERRIFICALLY WELL; GREAT choice of colors, AND a TREMENDOUS amount of character. I AM impressed. Who gets the credit for the SPLENDID work? | |
