| The base inserts are complete pieces that fit into the indentation of bases like those used for War Machine. Here's a link to the section of the on-line shop: http://wyrd-games.net/shop/home.php?cat=263 . The tubs of scenicing stuff from GW are a TOTAL rip off that ONLY a Fan Boy would buy.

| is it just me, or is there anyone else who finds all this stuff not so cheap ? now, for me, a metal lover, the base inserts may well be plastic with today's technologies, they can make stuff that's pretty neat wouldn't that drop the price a bit ? I wonder how we get from $ 2 mini's tot $ 12 ones ... did you actually see the gw inserts in detail ? if so, where ? since we're talking prices here ; i always thought plastic and resin where cheaper than metal. But lately the resin sets seem to be as expensive as metal ones. Then why should we buy resin instead of metal ? | |

| The GW tubs are just basic materials for making bases; i.e, sand, broken resin pieses for rocks, flock, barbed wire, etc.; it's all stuff they don't actually make themselves & which can be purchased from other folks for less $s. Resin isn't really all that much cheaper to use than metal, & not all the castings in resin come out in a sellable condition. While the plastic itself is much less expensive than metal, the equipment required to manufacture plactic items is MUCH MORE expensive than the casting equipment for metal pieces; ergo, only a fairly large company can afford the initial outlay for the equipment &, nowadays, the high tech CAD/CAM machinery. SO, for little mini making firms. metal or resin is the ONLY way to go. | |

| The thing with Reaper is they have SO MANY different sculptors doing pieces for them that, while not all the minis will appeal to everyone, there is always something that is of interest; AND they have thousands of minis to choose from. If your going to collect Succubi...sounds GOOD to moi, check out the Sophie Collection [Boxed Set] & her individual minis. Sophie is the Reaper Logo & in their Casketworks Catalog/Mag., she answers the mail...somehow that seems appropriate. Here's a link to the various manifestations of the Wench in several different scales: http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/sophie . Here's another; this one is a Crusader opponent for the Babe above: painted by Anne FoersterAll this browsing of the Reaper site has got me checking out my backlog of their minis... OOOH there IS some COOL STUFF awaiting the brush. | |

Although the titty subject is worked out just a bit too far out for my personal taste. Lol ! But still, I appreciate people with ideas & vision !

Rumor has it that she is a REAL woman...since she just married Kapitan Hak, I hope, for his sake, the rumor is true. She IS one of our VERY talented Polish Forumites & has a nimber of VERY COOL threads in the Gallery & the Painting & Modelling sections.

| hey Lanyssa, yes, looks pretty nice ! I'd like to see her painted by you ! Probably would give a completely different pic. Elves are to you what greenskins are to Nala I'm beginning to thing ;-) There should be a law that people are not allowed to buy any mini's as long as they have more than 25 unpainted ones ! (I'm getting the impression I'm not the only one who buys more than I can paint ...) it's an addiction ... thanks again for your kind support to this thread ! | |

| Well not counting twenty or so multicompartment storage trays FILLED with desprued GW plastic stuff, I figure I'm down to about 400 or 500 metal minis. Since this represents about 1/4 of the backlog of minis I had a few years ago, I NEED MORE! | |

| I found this Bard Babe while wandering aimlessly through the Painted Gallery at Reaper: painted by Derek Schubert As I SLOWLY with MUCH drooling...another Old Guy thing ...work my way through ALL the mini photos, visions of War Bands...the that would go with this kind of visions...keep flashy through my enfeebled brain. SO...now I've started jotting down notes, mini #s with prices, & comments. Given a few more lifetimes, I MIGHT complete ALL the thingys I've got cooking...maybe . One of my hang ups with minis is that, even though I'm not really a gamer anymore, I think of minis in terms of the games they could be used in. It IS the RIGHT of ALL toy soldiers to be played with; PURE collectors are SICK PUPPIES! SO...wouldn't this OH BABY! Paladin make a FINE travelling companion for the Bard Babe? painted by Derek Schubert AND an Elven Scout Chick: painted by Derek Schubert Of course, having them on the same type of base WOULD help tie them together. | |
