| I've seen only a couple of Red Box minis...I get them confused with Red Lancer, which do a range of large scale historical pieces. I didn't realize they were THAT GOOD. They run the gamut from realisticly attractive to OH BABY! Thanks for the lead, LR. | |

| here again some pieces I have had laying around for ever and didn't start yet from a Scottish company, long out of business (think they were called Grendel) and I guess everybody knows this GW chaos pandora like type of thing ... and my second of those topless bloodthirsty female elves (only have 2) | |

| Grendel is still around. They operate out of a Hobby Store somewhere in the wilds of Scotland. They were affiliated with Grenadier [whose minis are being reintroduced by Mirliton & Combat Zone Chronicles]. Nowadays they do resin accessory & scenery thingys. The Kali look alike is a cool idea. Reaper has a couple of similar & somewhat more attractive versions. I'll go dig them out. HERE WE GO: the mini is part of the War Lord Range Dark Spawn & done by Julie Gutherie: I'm pretty sure ther's another one that was a Bob Ridolfi mini...back to the hunt [grabs Elephant Gun & Pith Helmet]. AND later that day...the hunt hasn't produced the desired results, BUT I did find some attractive if kinky Lasses in the Darkspawn. This is one of the unkinky ones: And a kinky Cutey: Quasi-kinky: Decidedly kinky: AND so are her friends: | |

| last batch is weird are those gloves ? mutations ? the details seem a bit crude (but that can be the pic ofcourse) def like the Julie Guthrie better (she's been around for quite a while no ?) found an easterly looking one in the vault (think from Hobby as well) the key was glued on by me | |

| Those are mutated weaponry...that's the kinky part. I've seen these in the flesh so to speak; the detailing is actually quite nicer than the photos would lead you to believe. Julie has been around FOREVER...well she started as the third scultor for Ral Partha after Tom Miers & Dennis Mitze(sp) some time in the late 70s or early 80s. I got to meet her a LONG time ago; she's pretty & very pleasant & MUCH younger than moi [who isn't? ]. The easiest way to spot Hobby Products/Mega Minis stuff is 1-by their universal round featureless bases, which are designed to fit into a plastic base with an indentation that matches the size & thickness of the mini's base, 2-by theis diminutive stature being "true" 25mm minis, & 3-by their beautifully done, expressive faces. | |

| well, it's got the round base to fit in the plastic one looked 28 mm to me, but it could well be 25 if that was hobby's standard isn't this one of Julie's as well ? I'm no connaisseur, but it seems to fit her style ... Darn ! I got a lot to paint ! | |

| I think that's Sandra Garrity's. Their styles compliment each other quite nicely. Sandy goes back almost a far as Julie. I used to exchange Christmas cards with her, SO I can attest to her being as nice as she is talented. Sandy's hallmark pieces are her FANTASTIC winged creatures & her BEAUTIFUL horses... makes some MEAN LOOKING monsters too. Her Warrior Women are REALLY cool, but, with the exception of her Succubus, her other females tend toward the prissy side. | |

| I don't think we got into Avatars of War minis before. They really do some GREAT stuff. The variant pieces that come with some of their minis are a VERY cool & useful idea. I think I'm in LOVE with the Dark Elf Sorceress. Thanks for the post, LR. @pascal: confirmed that to be a Sandy Garrity mini; one of the Sisters of the Blade. Those minis were SO popular some of the other Reaper mini sculptors have also done versions. Here's one by Werner Klocke: Here's a Gnome Chick by Sandy G: painted by Anne Foerster Cute is another Garrity trademark. | |

| Werner sure is a women lover ! His female anatomy is almost perfect without exagerating in any way. (no Pamela boobs, no curves that are way out of proportion ; he just gets them RIGHT) (well, in a kinda idealistic way that is) I know the Avatar range ; looks quite good indeed, but haven't bought any. (yet ...) this is about the last one I've got for the moment think it's an old gw | |

| Reaper for awhile was making The Legend of the Five Rings for WotC; I believe they lost the licence...WotC has EVEN less business ethics than GW.At any rate, Kyoso No Oni has a certain disturbing charm all her own. Old Werner DEFINITELY has an eye for the Ladies. Being a Goblin Guy I thought this Piratey/Gypsyish Goblin Gal was kindof cute:

we're way up into fantasy, and yet ... still some of us want the realism of having both sexes represented does that tell something about us I don't quite grasp just yet ???
we should do a house swap for a month or so ; you can buy all the european stuff that' s hard to come by, and I can start exploring the US market ;-)
ah, no ... forgot .... the misses wouldn't let me go :-(

| WHAT A CUTE GOLBLIN GIRL! It goes a LONG way to explaining wbhy there are SO MANY Goblins...also why they're less willing to go marching off to war than their Orc brethren. COOL POST, Gobbo ! @pascal: I hadn't seen the Game Zone Fanatics painted up before... VERY NICE! Game Zone REALLY out classes GW in just about all their stuff, as does Rackham. Unfortunately they out do them in price also. That said, GW's plastics are WONDERFULLY easy to kit bash & convert & a value for the $s...don't tell anyone I said that. | |

| Nala, GW's plastics are WONDERFULLY easy to kit bash & convert & a value for the $s. I don't know how it's in the us, but eg in the UK the 3 plastic goblin fanatics cost £ 7.85 ... that's about the price I just to pay for metal ones ! The price of mini's has risen much more the last 10 years than my wage did ... | |

The price of mini's has risen much more the last 10 years than my wage did ... I NEVER considered getting the plastic Fanatics; the metal ones were UBERCOOL & I had all I needed (15) before the plastic ones came out...plus I don't like the new plastic Night Goblins. I meant the unit box sets like the Empire Militia at 20 minis for $35 with lots of extra pieces Things like the Empire Wizard & Hero are VERY expensive for the number of minis you get, but provide lots of conversion parts. The Dryad IS a BEAUTY... AND, who wouldn't like to paint like Marike Reimer?... VERY TALENTED Lady!

| Living up to their name, Wyrd has some Ladies of the Evening who are REALLY no longer with us...mostly. It's nice to see some Girls who take pride in their appearance despite being Living Impaired... PRETTY PLUCKY ATTITUDE I'd say. AND, going from the rediculous to the sublime: Lilithis supposed to be a Demonic Babe, but she has other possibilities. | |

| mmm.... I really like Wyrd mini's, but this one's a bit less to my liking ... this one reminds me a bit of that Kalee from Hasslefree (well, a little bit at least) beautiful base again ... ! @Lanyssa ; hi, do you know if the succubus from Asmodée is available separately, or only in the demon box ? this is the rackham one that I'd like to find at a bargain price (been hunting it for more than two years now) Freebooter also have a lovely succubus, but again rather pricy Virina by Reaper an Iron Kingdoms I wanted to use as yet another withchunter ; | |

| The bases on the Wyrd minis are metal/pewter inserts that can be purchased from Wyrd...or some shop that carries Wyrd minis. They also have a line of accessory pieces for base detailing. There's NO END to the thingys we can spend our meager funds on. | |
