| Thanks! I only hope I can keep impressing you... Yet another update... I've finished two older builds. Done quite some time ago (several years in fact) I finally found the time and motivation to complete them. The set originally consisted of three pieces, but the third one was re-designed to be another dungeon entrance. Big, multi-level room with a bridge section... This set does need a third part to be attached to the bridge. I built one before but decided I needed another entrance/exit instead. Due to it's massive size (over 100 square Inch) and the number of entrances the big room is well suited as a central module in any dungeon design... These two modules were built to work together with this room before it was converted to serve as dungeon entrance/exit... A third module to complete the set is now being planned and the pieces needed are being cast. I just received 50kg of plaster so I should have enough to build some more, too... The latest pieces used with some other modules to show the possibilities of the set... If this works as well as it looks you should expect some more multi-level pieces soon! I like those arches and the flight of stairs looks pretty nice, too... The big hearth is a notable feature of this room... Thanks for watching! Your feedback is greatly appreciated so, please, let me know what you think... | |

| As someone who spent years swashbuckling through various dungeons, this is the stuff of dreams. I really like the bridge...multilevel is cool...& the hearth. You have a VERY ELEGANT Dungeon. It brings up images of some subterranean Byzantine complex. GREAT WORK! | |

| Thanks guys! Elegant, sounds about right... I wanted it to have another feel than the 'standard' decrepit, gloomy dungeons. I am really looking for an inhabited feel, like the dungeon (or castle interior) is home to real people. Hence the addition of candles, shelves, beds and other furniture...
The pieces are all plaster, cast up with Hirst Arts molds. Very versatile stuff, worth checking out I'd say... It builds like LEGO...

| Yesterday, I opened up one of my fresh bags of plaster and started casting like there was no tomorrow... With 15 molds being cast at the same time I had a huuuuuge pile of parts within no time at all... The fruits of my labour... After a good night drying these bricks are ready (more or less) for construction! A couple of hours later, this was the result... As I still needed a third module to complete the set with the bridge, that was my main goal... I built this room with a raised section designed to connect to the bridge. I also tried to add as many exits/entrances as possible to make this room as versatile as possible. Furthermore, there are still plenty of bricks left to make some more modules! The new module in combination with the rest of the set... They're also used in a small set-up to demonstrate how they work. I think I can safely say that this won't be the last set which connects on a higher level. I even managed to coat the entire piece... Drybrushing will have to wait until tomorrow though, the plaster is still a little damp so the paint will take some time to dry properly. I should have the piece finished before our skirmish on tuesday... Thanks for watching! Your feedback is greatly appreciated so, please, let me know what you think... | |

| Thanks! I am also pretty happy with how they turned out, now let's see how they work in game... Update! I've finished the module I made yesterday and laid out another dungeon including the complete set with the bridge... Not a lot of words, just a lot of pics... It was a lot of fun, laying out this huuuuuge dungeon (still room for more though). I am also quite happy with how the raised sections came out, definately making more of those! They add an extra dimension to the whole set... While laying out this set-up I already got plenty if ideas for new pieces, so expect updates soon! The only two pieces I didn't manage to include in my dungeon... Poor buggars... Thanks for watching! Your feedback is greatly appreciated so, please, let me know what you think... | |

| This terrain reminds me a LOT of the Anor Londo setting in the recent PS3 game Dark Souls. All that's missing is giant living statues with even bigger halberds trying to kill you! | |

| Thanks guys! The set weighs almost as much as I do, and I ain't missing no meals... As for a tutorial on how to cast bricks, check out www.hirstarts.com Way better than how I could tell it... Anyway, it's update time! It has been a long time, but I do have some authentic Stirlanders for you today! Just a couple, but better than nothing, right? A kit-bashed Engineer... Made with parts from several different kits, this Master Engineer is going to coach my third (or fourth) Helblaster. I also converted a musician for my Deaths Heads unit... To keep in line with the overall creepy feel of the unit I opted to equip him with a big horn (does anybody know the precise term for such an instrument?) from the VC Skeleton kit... Here he is with his skull-masked buddies... The unit still needs a champion, he's next... More dungeon! I finished another two modules for my dungeon... A bridge section (an exact copy of my first bridge section) and another module with a second level access (two of them, in fact)... Here is how they link up with the other three... And a couple of pics with a mock-up setting... Expanding this second level is easy, with a couple of pieces at a time... They do not limit the overall accessibility of the dungeon while adding a big point of interest (both visually and game-wise). Thanks for watching! Your feedback is greatly appreciated so, please, let me know what you think... | |

| While the Engineer is a jovial looking & finely converted Fellow, with or without mask the Lads in the Infantry are a GRIM LOOKING bunch... VERY appropriate for Stirland. They all look to be a treat to paint... ENJOY! You answered my question about accessibility before I asked it. The elevated sections do add a lot of visual interest to an already interesting table. GREAT STUFF! | |

| Update! After a boring meeting at school I managed to get home early and decided I didn't need to grade those math tests just yet... Instead I rummaged around in my bitsbox and came up with some suitable bits for a cool unit champion for the skull-masked Halberdiers... I think I came up with a pretty decent looking Sergeant, but I'll let you be the judge of that... Well, what do you think? I used an assortement of Empire bits to dress him up properly. An internet cookie for the first one to name the model who generously supplied me with the body for this conversion (but only a small one, it's rather easy)... Here's the complete command group for my new Halberdiers... The unit has grown to 15 models. I should have the parts to make a full horde (40 models) without too many difficulties, so that's going on my to-do list for my upcoming vacation! Thanks for watching! Your feedback is greatly appreciated so, please, let me know what you think... | |

| Braganza from Braganza`s Besiegers!
It is a nice looking model, even though it looks a little strange with one arm not being armoured. And why does the standard-bearer not have a skull-mask, while the musician (who cant't properly blow the horn that way) does? Otherwise one more great looking projects of yours. Since I'm about to be a full-time teacher myself soon, I am pleased to see that others still find the time for a little bit of hobby. I was rather concerned...

| The Skull Masked Champion/Captain is definitely one COOL Dude... EXCELLENT conversion! You might, however, consider swapping heads on your musician; blowing that horn with his mouth covered by the mask might be a problem. Other than that, LOOKIN' GOOD! | |

I never saw an bigger or nicer dungeon.
For me just one tiny detail would make the dungeon perfect.
It needs rubble and dirt, maybe some blood stains.

Thanks! That will have to wait a bit... Well, saturday we had a couple of great games (check out both plogs of was1974 for more pics and a decent battle-report) and I even remembered to take a few pics... First game was 150 points Dwarfs (me) vs Empire... This skirmish started out rather bad for my bearded brethren but in the end I managed to win the game (but only just) by the virtue of Dwarven toughness... The Giant Slayer fluffing all four of his attacks and being chopped in half by the first Greatsword he walk into... This game witnessed an unusual amount of spectacular parry saves. The second game was 150 points Empire (me) vs Vampire Counts... A load of skeletons, a couple of Ghouls and Zombies? No problem! A Crypt Horror... Oooops! After all the skeletons were gone I just had enough manpower left to defeat that Crypt Horror (nasty beast!). I also have a little update to show you... Yes, cavalry... I had these lying around and decided now that we're returning to 7th edition, it was as good a time as any to add some Knights to my army... In addition to Volands Venators (which are pretty cool models in their own right) I also had a classic mounted General (hiding beneath a few layers of old paint) that I really wanted to use. The Knights aren't glued to their horses as I also still want to be able to use them for my Pistoliers... This afternoon I had a very nice battle with FBI... We used 7th ed. rules and only 2000 points aside. We also agreed (well, I almost forced FBI) to use only combat troops... I had a load of pics, but Photobucket seems to think differently... A pic of my left flank... Here, the Dwarfs were ultimately crushed between the Halberdiers, Pikemen and Greatswords... Thanks to an early breakthrough in the centre of the battlefield I had enough troops present to flank the Dwarfs. The right flank was a totally different story. There, the Dwarfs held with the kind of stubbornness they are famed for... My Knights failed to break through a unit of Warriors and were charged in the rear by a unit of Miners and my Free Company and Greatswords struggled with the Longbeards. Great battle! The first fun game I had in months! Going back to 7th edition proved to be a good idea. However, we also decided on a couple of small rules we would like to 'borrow' from 8th ed (which is good, too). I really prefer my 7th ed. army book over the piece of crap that is the new Empire book and FBI just likes the 7th ed. BRB better. This way, we both are assured of a good game... And another small update... Make of this what you will... Thanks for watching! Your feedback is greatly appreciated so, please, let me know what you think...

| Update time! After two afternoons and one evening of cutting, sanding, glueing, drilling and sculpting I have a proper, picture-filled update for you! First up is my Captain on Pegasus... He's not new, but I re-based him, making him tall enough to fly over the rest of my models. For quite some time I had a third LE Empire BSB lying around (minus both arms) that I picked up in a lot of bits... My new Captain... He's armed with a halberd (obviously), as that was still allowed back in 7th ed. Really like the pose, casual but intimidating... The arms are from the Demi-Gryph kit. This conversion required a lot of careful cutting and sanding, but in the end it came out just great! My version of the Cursed Company... I use a mix of Skeletons and Grave Guard models. I have built these 15 models as a starter (they cost a lot of poinst!), but I need more as the enemies they kill join their own ranks... I should have enough models to boost the unit up to 30 models. I want the unit to look as Imperial as possible so I included as many Empire weapons as I could... The head with the helmet is a banner top from the Empire Greatsword kit, it fits the Skeletons (and my Imerial theme) perfectly! Join me in damnation! The Cursed Company is led by Richter Kreugar, a character that I converted out of the plastic Wight King from the VC range (really, this whole unit is just an excuse to buy this model)... I tried to remove as many traces of VC iconography as possible, replacing them with Imperial flavoured counterparts... The sculpted cloak is actually quite smooth, happy with how it came out... I also finished the first 20 of my skull-masked Halberdiers... For now, that's enough but eventually I want to expand the unit to 30, or even 40 if I can get enough heads (looking at you, Daniel)... And last, but certainly not least... I finished my Holy Tree! I added the four posts at the corners and scultped some additional detail (as well as filled up some gaps). It's ready for painting! The Captain is there just for scale (yes, it's a big SOB!)... This tree was originally designed to go with my Mordheim board but it's equally at home on my main table... Thanks for watching! Your feedback is greatly appreciated so, please, let me know what you think... | |
