| Thanks for all the great feedback! My summer vacation is approaching rapidly (just two more weeks), with it comes a load of free time to spend on the hobby... Painting is something I plan to do, this project is now almost a year old, and it's about time it get's finished (I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you, but my good intentions should count for something )! - Quote :
- If I lived closer I would volunteer to paint this for you just to see it all finished up and painted
You should feel lucky you're halfway across the globe, otherwise I would hold you to your word - Quote :

Adding details is what makes this project so much fun (and also what's delaying the process of painting). We use the board for games of roleplay too, so the extra detail and moving doors and stuff really have a purpose. Glad you like it! - Quote :

Yes, they are... The statues from the kit are great, only drawback is the fact I can't use them to make a mold. I purchased four kits at the start of the project, just for the statues. Other bits and pieces did come in handy though... More updates coming soon!

| Lovely, and your empire mini's are bad ass. They make me believe the Empire might actually succeed in cleaning up the city of all it's villainous invaders. | |

| This project is rapidly nearing it's first year anniversary and it's about time I treated you all on a fresh update! I've finished another building, complete with all the detials, doors and shutters... Scheduled for tomorrow is some textured paint! Here are a few pics, mostly of some notable details. A lot of doors... New section of roof... Very pleased with this part... Inside... I also finished the gallows. I added a lot of little details and this little sucker should be ready for some paint! And to give you a sneak peek into some new developments, here's a pic of two mini's who are soon to be put to use as statue... Marco Colombo (thank you Tagnator!) and Jules... The jester is to replace the pegasus on the fountain. | |

| I love the use of the rings on your poles and doors! (Me and a friend are finally to the point of casting our own ornaments, so your thread has been a great inspiration to us!) It all keeps looking brilliant. though... the walkways/balconies, are they well playable? seeing as you have all the railings around them, I can Imagine models being hard to reach when they are up there... | |

Thanks! The rings are almost too simple, but I am a sucker for details... Those walkways are perfectly playable, though I have to admit the railings are there because they look good and not to benefit playability... As for casting ornaments, hit me with a PM, we should work out a trade After a spark of inspiration (from the thread Doll house supplies) I made this... Someone said it couldn't be done, so I tried it (and it worked!)... It's a working weather vane! When gently blown against, it turnes straight into the 'wind'... Made from tiny bits of plastic rod and tubing. The ornament is from the Citadel Chapel kit. Careful measurement and a load of super glue did the rest... Almost as an afterthought I also made these big doors for my belltower... These still need some details but otherwise they are done. The belltower is now almost ready to be undercoated, only a few minor surfaces need some textured paint. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think.

I'll definetaly shoot you a PM once we figured out how to cast our stuff... expect this to be soon! haha (just put up my buildings, and it NEEDS details)

be carefull painting it up though (that's where I ruined my moving parts... :s) Otherwise, great product! Painting shouldn't be a problem as the rod has a little room left inside the tube. It's the same technique I use for all my doors and shutters and they work fine when (finally) painted. Furthermore, I feel like I should thank you, as it was your comment (over in the Dollhouse supplies thread) which inspired me to try it for myself More updates coming soon!

Indeed, there are few models as suited to be a statue as Marco (that, and I already have one for my Empire army). Just a little patience, he's already based and primed... - Quote :

Cool, just make sure you post the pics here on the forum... Tiny update... I've commenced work on the fountain, or 'fool's fountain' as it shall be known. I replaced the pegasus statue with Jules who gives the piece much more charachter. Paint is almost done, as is the 'water' effect... Still very much WIP though... Your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think.

| That REALLY is a COOL/CREATIVE idea. Normally I shutter a bit when you use a Classic bit of Citadel's creative stage for statuary, but the Jester is PERFECT for a fountain ornament...it fit SO WELL with the character of the concept art. AND the water effects look like they'll turn out UBERCOOL. GREAT STUFF! | |

Sorry... I just can't help myself. Every time I look at a model, be it old or new, I just have to wonder if it will make a great statue... Just glad to have an Empire army including loads of old models, a huge bits box and some generous friends with equally large bits boxes (oh and the internet ofcourse)... Another quick update... The fountain is almost finished, a single wash of Devlan Mud and it should be done... The bubbles are the most recent addition to the fountain... Two new statues... Apart from the banner top, which is from an old Imperial standard, the entire model is made with spare parts from the Empire Greatsword kit... Apart from the scroll in his hand the entire model is made with spare parts from the (very nice!) Empire Greatsword kit... Your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think.

| Sorry for the double post, but I've got another small update, just a few pics... Finished fountain on the table... The water is a bit too green and still needs a wash of Devlan Mud. Finished wall with added skulls, a nice detail, a bit low key, but I like them very much... All the statues I've constructed so far... And what's most important, they're all finished! These are the ones I can move around, the table also features another six fixed statues and a statue on the fountain... More statues than Ceasar's palace, baby! Your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think. | |

| these double posts are greatly appreciated! haha! looking very good! love the foolsfountain, and the table is definetaly taking shape. Alan, I was previously a bit uncertain as to using classic, or just really nice models for statues, but playing with them only chips the paint job, so placing them as statues will show them off pretty much every game while safeguarding them a bit more... so nowadays I really like statues made of great models! and they add a lot more charactar to the city! | |

| I must admit the Jester, when all painted up, is just a silly little mini, BUT, as a statue, it is a VERY effective in character piece that adds TREMENDOUSLY to the Mordheim atmosphere of the board... AND the fountain is a LOVELY piece. | |

Probabely very good, but that's not my style Besides, the MMCD (Mordheim Municipal Cleaning Department) would repair the damage instantly (that's why the rest of the city looks so crisp and clean)... - Quote :

Thanks! Sometimes it's really hard to decide to use a great classic model as a statue, I often decide to use them for the very same reason. They get to see regular action instead of collecting dust in a cabinet. I even have to admit I have bought a few of the statues on purpose... - Quote :

Fool's fountain it is! Thanks for the huge compliment. I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out... Although the jester is supposed to be a Bretonnian model it still manages to look good in an Imperial city! - Quote :

| Wow, I love the fountain. Very very radioactive!
What did you use to make it that color? and how did you get the fountain effects? (The stream of water flowing into the pool)
And what did you use for the sickly bubbles floating in it?
...Sorry for all the questions, I just really like that fountain!
About the statues, have you considered using larger models for statues? Large epic statues would look awesome I bet! (Of course, yours are just as amazing.)
