Space Hulk - Questions & Answers

My Space Hulk arrived today (actually last week, but I was at work when they tried to deliver it). If anyone is still wondering whether or not to buy it and has any questions or wants photo of specific pieces let me know and I'll be happy to provide.

- This product is GW's foray into using foriegn manufacturing (China). Some parts made in the UK, some in China with Chinese assembly.
- The models need some assembly, but aren't customizable. Less so than even the AoBR models.
- The sculpts are excellent and mould lines are minimal. The plastic used different than the grey plastic normally used and is much more brittle. I had one piece that broke off the sprue and one that cracked pretty badly in shipping.
- The box is super heavy as the tiles are very thick (thicker than most board game boards?) and there is a lot of them.

I haven't opened up a lot of the packaging yet (as I am really only interested in the models), but I will gladly open whatever anyone wants to see.

Lucky Guy! I am still waiting on mine on the 5th. I have one preordered and I am thinking of purchasing another one just to have.

I also ordered mine from the LFGS... It seems that DaBank and I will be playing Space Hulk for quite some time!

Picked up mine today and I am very happy with it.

got one today, not mine though... my grandads i dont have enough money made me carry it round tho, its heavy for a box full of sprue and card... but on monday gw's on thier website theres a 13th mission (-que the Oooo-) its like a mission builder... gunna make a gretchin and imperial one happy gaming with the new box.

@wolfy....can you copy and paste the info on the 13th mission as I can't find on the GW website.

yeh il try find it, one of the Gw staff at wakefield said about it and itl be on, on monday becuase they update the site every sunday night. but il try and find it for you.

Q: Why does the plastic suck so much?

What do you mean by the plastic? I think it is great!

I think it's really brittle and breaks easily. After I opened the box and a genestealter foot fell right out of it, I am even afraid to knock them over.

Aren't these the first plastics that GW had produced in China?

Could be a reason. But actually, I thought they had the tiles made in china and the miniatures in the UK.

Yeah, it's just something that came to mind. I don't know really. You probably simply had bad luck. I don't think GW has their usual awesome return policy when it comes to the Space Hulk sprues..?

One of my Genstealers came with a broken NAIL... I wonder if GW would get me another sprue!

Eli, I had exactly the same problem.. I also had a broken off Genestealer claw, dunno from what Genestealer it was, but I will soon find out when I have assembled everything..

Nothing a simple pin with some glue can't fix though!

Wow, that's racial discrimination, first Mordheimer is only showing pics of the Space Marines, and then we are all complaining about the Genestealers falling apart

Now, I get it. So far no problem with mine.

i got my box too and whilst assembling the commander (please forgive me my noobness as i dont have the manual here) one of the drapes broke off.. and the claws of the clawdude was also slightly dented.. o well. my opinion is they went a little tooooo far with the very very small details with the material used.

The plastic is definately different. Positively, absolutely different.

1st... I'm a Nid player. The fact that we have TWO 3-armed Genestealers in every box makes me mad. 2nd... about the pics of only Space Marines, sorry!

Regards the plastic... yes, it is VERY brittle. Less than resin, more than regular plastic. Be careful with the 'drapes' and iconography... you give it the evil eye and it will break off!
