okay, something I was wondering was if a model which is a henchmen with a limited number get's 'The lad's got talent', can you hire a new henchmen which was at his limit, or not?

ie, the ogre bulls from BTB's Maneater warband are limited to two. if one of them becomes a hero, can I hire a new ogre bull henchmen or not?

The warrior always retains it's unit type. Therefore you could not hire another of that type if they were at max.

Example: Human mercenary band has 7 Marksmen. One is promoted to hero but the band still has 7 Marksmen. One is just better than the rest.

Note that promoted lads still retain their old equipment options. Only through skills can you gain access to further options.

Yep.

Official Mordheim FAQ wrote:
Q: Can an Orc warband purchase another Big ’Un if his first Big Un became the leader and he has one other Big ’Un?
A: No. The new Leader is still a Big ’Un, albeit with the Leader ability. You can fill the empty hero spot with promoted Orcs, but you may never have more than 2 Big ’Uns.

Although the 0-7 Mercenary Marksmen catferret mentioned are usually the standard example, but I didn't find that one. Smile
