I am not a very eager user of all these facebook etc sites.

Honestly, neither am I. But I did sign up for this so I figured I'd just look for other users.

Basically, you can do short (140 character max) updates to your status for all your friends to see... and you can do it from the internet, from your phone, etc.

Yeah - I signed up for Facebook, but even that I rarely touch. I doubt I'll ever bother twittering.

I used my facebook for a while. Got in touch with some old college friends and frat brothers but work, family, life and gaming has pulled me away from it.

Facebook is quite useful, especially when you are well travelled and have met people all over the planet. Twitter is a bit useless in my opinion though It's facebook without all the usefull aps. My 2 cents.

I would generally agree with you here. I'm not a big fan of social networking stuff in general, but Twitter is kind of free advertising. I've already found a few tabletop gamers that I'm trying to slowly push towards Mordheim.

I agree. I can be very useful. Try being a student - in the UK in particular - without facebook and you will be cut off from any social activities!

All invitations, parties, societies, pics etc are shared via facevook. I have never used my facebook account as much as during my year abroad in the UK.

Now I am back to the baseline level of use: check facebook only when I get an email notification.

The more important problem for me is time. I am afraid of signing up at too many spots, for fear of getting hooked
