| I was just wondering how some of you expert modelers managed to attach the carriage to the horses. It seems I have made the mistake of putting the horse tails directly behind the horse's main body. So now the horse tails are longer then the connector piece that is supposed to run to the wagon. It seems I am in the unenviable position of needing to find some way to attach the wagon to the horses. I see in Town Cryer 26 that some GW sculpters managed to elongate the connector piece (is this called a caisson?), any idea how this was done. any help would be greatly appreciated, as right now I have a 50 dollar hunk of lead sitting on my desk.
Thanks Eric | |

| As you can see here I also assembled the Mordheim Stage Coach (and used it for my Merchant Caravan). To be honest, I was quite ... unpleased with the model because of this very problem. Attaching the horses to the wagon doesn't work with supplied pieces. If I remember correctly (and this is years ago) I ordered a single bit via Mail Order that fixed the trouble. I think it was a part from the Vampire's Black Coach or from the Carnival's Cart. Not sure. Can you take photos of your WIP wagon? I have the strong feeling that you suffer from the same problem I had back then. | |

| This is a well-known problem, a friend had GreenStuffed all this part of his cart and it was a lot of work, perhaps I will ask if he has some pics of what he did | |

| Unfortunately I don't have my camera handy so as to take a picture. The Coach is fully built minus the rider, and the horses are fully assembled. Its just that the connection piece (a long, thin piece of pewter that looks like it is supposed to represent a wooden 2 x 4) is not long enough to reach between the horses and the Coach. The piece is not long enough because the horse's tails are supposed to go to flank of the horse, and therefore, the side of the carriage.
Woe is me for not realizing this until it was too late! I'll try to get a picture over this weekend.
Thanks guys Eric | |

| No need to take a photo, Joker. I understand your problem. As I wrote I above I used a bit from the Black Coach of the Warhammer Vampire Counts which I ordered when GW still had the Mail Order Archive service. I realized that the supplied kit doesn't work so I ordered two of the Black Coach chassis(?). Used one for my Stage Coach, the other for my scratch-built trade wagon (see below). So, yeah. The original Stage Coach model is a mess. There is nothing you can do with the pieces you have. Unfortunately you can no longer order individual bits from GW. I just tried an ebay search but found nothing. You could try to model something with green stuff or use balsa or something like that. | |

| Try phoning GW and moaning until they give you a new part. If that fails, then dock (cut off) the horses' tails. | |

| Yea, I phoned GW a couple weeks ago when I first discovered my disappointment. The service rep told me that that GW had received several complaints regarding the stagecoach. At first I thought it was simply missing pieces, but the the service rep did an inventory of all the parts with me. No such luck. He actually went and got one of the bare models, and went so far as to state he didn't know how to get it together exactly, and did understand how there could be a issues putting the entire model together.
Thanks for your help guys. I think I'm just gonna jury rig something, or I'm going to buy to different horses and do the tails last.

Good luck then! You could also call them again and say that you found out that the coach works with the above mentioned bit from the vampires' black coach and maybe they send that to you. | |

| Here's an update on this one I recently purchased the Mordheim Coach set from GW mail order and informed them (after getting a coach with several miscast and missing pieces replaced) that the axle connecting the yoke to the carriage was the incorrect piece. I also mentioned the Mordheim Coach was being displayed on the GW site as having the Vampire Counts horse / cart connector and not the piece they are including in the box set. | Vampire Coach arrived a few days ago and with a little work the connector will do the job - Joker2and53 wrote:

I think the trick is be polite and expect nothing - more so if you ordered the piece a while ago. My total order was pretty big which might have helped too. It's just a shame mail order don't provide individual bitz anymore as it's easily fixed. I wouldn't have purchased a full VC to solve the problem. It might be GW include the VC connector in the stage coach from now on. Best of luck getting the connector - Kafka
