Skavenblight's Underground Scenery

Oh God! I look on these terrains and I'm wondering, how could I post something like that here Fortunately you all survived this nightmare. Now as a reward, something better with better pics

It's an ancient chamber, which lies deep in Karak Zorn. I built it for one scenario, but the book in the middle is removable, so we can put there anything (or nothing) and play any other scenario on it.

Today something new - I really like to make scenery with water, so I made one This is a "cavern segment", the stone bridge is one of the few "dwarvish" things that still remain in the forgotten caverns deep below dwarven halls.

VERY NICELY DONE! That is an elegant little piece...I love the way the stalagmites reflect in the "water".

Elegant is an excellent word to describe it. I like it. The water looks very foreboding.

love the cavern stuff you have there! have been meaning to do something similar myself for the last campaign we did but never got around to it.

BTW, you mentioned the Hirst Arts molds. living in the UK they can de hard/expensive to get hold of. the only real experience i have had with casting was with Wekekin when we made his board (and if you have read the thread it was a learning experience!) so i don't want to drop a load of money on them and be disappointed. how difficult are they to use and what is the quality of the casts like?

Skavenblight you put the rest of us to shame! Another absolutely brilliant piece of scenery, and definitely Elegant as DefNala said.

How are you creating the water, are you using the Water Effects from GW or is it a trade secret?

In fact, we don't have these molds, we only bought a lot of already casted blocks from a guy who has the molds and sells the blocks cheaply. So far we know, they are not difficult to use and we are also glad about the quality, so it's a really good product... I you can afford it of course, the price is the reason why we didn't buy the molds.

I painted it and then I used polyester resin, but you must be very careful with this and do it (if you really want to) outside the house or in ventilated room, because the fumes are toxic.

I just think about the size of your scenery.

It seems to be so, that your whole tabletop will be filled out by those quadrants.

Where/how will you store alls thos fine pieces?

Yes, in boxes. We have 8 big boxes for the whole Mordheim scenery. Only 4 are now full (most of them for Mordheim, not Karak Zorn). There can be 4-5 pieces in one box, so I hope it will be ok

Ok, the last cavern in "Hirst-molds-style". Last 2 cavern segments will be made from another materials, but I don't know when, because now we are working on more dwarvish things - ruined tavern, temple, vaults... The bloody color on the water is because of the resin used for imitating the water

Skavenblight - once again, a fantastic piece of terrain - I think the blood colour on the water adds to the effect of mineral-laden underground streams - keep on posting!

Today something more dwarvish... a ruined tavern Made by Kapitan Hak, painted by me.

What could be more the EPITOME OF ALL THINGS DWARVEN than a Tavern?...AND a VERY COOL one at that. You & the Kapitan make a FINE TEAM. WONDERFULLY WELL DONE!
