I thought I'd post a few pictures of the Bretonnian warband I've been slowly building over the last few months. I'm still working on it and me and my brother have yet to play Mordheim which has been mainly down to my incredibly slow painting skills.

This guy was converted using the torso from the grail knight which rode on the old Bretonnian pegasus and legs from a reiksguard knight.

I really wanted to give my Bretonnian's some character so for my leaders squire I'm using the friar tuck type figure. I straightened out his bow, sculpted a staff and gave him a bag instead of the barrel which usually goes on his back. With my other squires I'm gonna make them look like their carrying loads of trinkets and equipment so it looks like there all on some kind of pilgrimage to Mordhiem.

These are my other two hero's. They've got to be knight errants so I'm really trying to tone down there appearance so the leader stands out a bit more. I'll update as soon as there finished. Very Happy

Very very nice Stew9!

Very neat paintjob. I like the "clean" armour.

I'd be thrilled to see some more of your painted models soon!
Thx for sharing!

Nice, man! I've never seen a Mordheim Bretonnian warband before so it's really good to have you post these. I like your model choice and paintjob too and I am looking forward to seeing more photos of your warband. Thanks.

How do you cut them in half without ruining the model?

LOVE"EM! I love you

I REALLY like the "beast of burden" look of the Squire; this little guy is my personal favorite. The Archers are JUST BEAUTIFUL as is the Paladin. Your conversion work is FLAWLESS & the paint jobs are INCREDIBLY WELL DONE. They make even a Goblin Guy like moi long to paint up some knights [of course, I'm easily distracted Suspect ]. BRAVO! ENCORE! cheers

Thanks for all the comments, I really appreciate it!
Sorry if this thread's seemed a bit dead lately but I promise you I am working on it. This years been a bit hectic for me. At the moment I'm painting up the two knights shown at the bottom and I'm currently converting a Grail Pilgrim to be another squire.

In reply to Da Banks's question, the simple a answer is i pretty much destroy the model which i'm taking bits off. So when i took the legs off the reiksguard knight figure i basically ruined it.
If your any good at sculpting you can reuse a lot of bits by pinning them and using green stuff to recreate the damaged area's but it takes time and it's something I'm still learning. It's definatly worth practicing though.

If you guys want better ways to cut models get a jewlers saw and a vice grips which clamp onto your desk. I got my jewlers saw for under $20 and the vice grips were $30. I had a cheap set of vice grips before and they broke after a few months also don't get one with a suction cub base, those rarely work well, get one that clamps. If you can find one with rubber caps to protect the work then your set! I can't emphasize how usefull these tools are. They are probably my favorite and the most usefull tools that I've got! They allow me to cleanly and quickly cut up models without ruining either part! Go on! You know you want one! thumbsup

I agree [okay, who said "so what!"? Suspect ]. Having the "right" tool for the job makes for a quicker, more efficent piece of work AND, ultimately, will save $s.thumbsup
