A conversion work in progress - this fellow leads, and he never gets cold;


The original idea for this conversion was triggered while reading a Warhammer army book which my mate Dave Jarzembowski loaned to me;

Living proof that sometimes I can finish painting stuff - profound apologies for partly blurred focus;


My back log is pretty disgusting though. Cianty is literally going to kill me dead if this project doesn't see completion pretty soon;

So you've been making some progress with the sled. Looks really good so far. I can't wait to see it finsihed!

I spy a Warhammer quest Barbarian in that group shot! And the terrain is as impressive as the painting!

Well quite the WHQ Barbarian is standard fare. A must have in any Norse band.

The scenery is a ruined temple/building in Nottingham at the Warhammer World gaming hall - also the worldwide HQ of the mighty Games Workshop.

Those hammers are upside-down. It's either an 'I am waiting for someone to grow big enough kahunas to dare attack me' pose, or an advanced fighting technique employed exclusively by 7'+ northers...

VERY, VERY COOL STUFF, very!
You've got quite a variety of minis covering a lot of years [the Thug up front brought back some fond memories...(tears form in the eyes). AND they ALL work so well together. The artillery piece is especially well done.
WOW, they let you use the War Hammer World terrain as a backdrop; now that's really cool!

It's been a while. SO, as I see it [insights into the disturb mind of an OLD Nut Job], either 1) the lads are unfinished, cianty went berserk, & you've died the death of six rag babies [Old West Virginia expression; I don't know exactly what is entailed in the "death of a rag baby, but it doesn't sound like a pleasant way to go] or 2) you've finished them. Hopefully, it's the later, and in that case: Where are the pics, Gumball? If the former, please disregard this message.

Only kidding about the Gumball remark...kind of.

Stu's very busy running the Border Town Burning Preview Campaign at the local Games Workshop store in Poole, UK (see latest news on the btb website also) so he doesn't have much time for painting his minis. Besides organizational shizzle he is more focused on their mountain board and some scenic stuff, I believe. So 1) is sort of the case but I did turn a blind eye this time as he sure was not lazy. I do hope to see some updates regarding his great warband - especially the awesome ice bear drafted wagon conversion!

Werekin, that is very cool! The scenery and painting are of the highest standard. Bravo! Could we maybe get some more close ups (you cruel man! )

Thanks, Tom! Website is steadily improving. I'm using it as a way to improve my HTML and now PHP skills (see the new contact form on the "contact" page). Advanced copy of the supp coming soon, by the way.

Oh, and that scenery is from Warhammer World, ie. GW HQ. I was very impressed with the shots he sent me. Also impressed with his minis, of course. I love Stu's Cathayan Ninjas. Need to bug him to upload them when he finds the time.

Here is a new picture of my Norse warband.



The Skaelings have taken up residence in an abandoned outpost. This ruined gatehouse was modelled & painted for me by a professional terrain modeller called Carl Merrell (aka Scenerybloke).

I have LOTS more neat shots now. I could post some close-ups of the models included here plus a few other Norse miniatures, and some new Norse marauder conversions which I am still working on.

The last week has been spent trawling through photographs and assembling a gallery of miniatures & terrain inspired by Border Town Burning. We were meant to complete it yesterday. The good news is that I think we're essentially finished. The bad news is Cianty's PC may have contracted a terminal virus (better the machine than the man!) and he's working on fixing that.

Better the machine than the man! That's a great quote I think I probably speak for the whole forum when I say that we'd all love to see more close-ups, these look great!

The conversion work on Snowblade is excellent. It's very hard to tell the model was once the Space Wolf/13th Company rune priest. Kudos to you.

The converted rat ogre is excellent. You have merged the rat ogre and dire wolf parts perfectly.

Brilliant! Those conversions are fantastic - the Ulferener, the Shaman, the Chosen with the wing. All superb. And the painting is excellent. Great imaginative interpretations of these guys as well - I love the smith, for example. All of these ideas are going into my Norse ideas file!

I REALLY like seeing some of the older minis; it's nice to know they're stll around. The conversion work is OUTSTANDING. I especially like the Shaman., although they are ALL SO GOOD picking out favorites would be beyond my feeble old mind . VERY WELL DONE!
