| Hey everyone, thought i might as well register and say hi since i've been lurking onthese forums for about a month ogglign all the awesome terrain etc.
My name's James, i'm 25 and i'm from Belfast. Got an intrest for Mordheim when I was working on my Empire army and happened to stumble across some awesome sites (Specalist games, this one and a few others) with loads of information about the game and now i'm hooked!. already working on a table, although i haven't taken pics of it yet. Its still a WIP as in the boards are being worked on and some of the buildings are being assembled.
Have to say alot of awesome terrain on this site... makes me jealious
Unfortently even more I don't know anyone local who plays mordheim so making the table for fun at the moment auw well least i'll have a table |

| Hello Duce!
I hope you'll find some people to play this great game with. Until then I look forward to what terrain you come up with.
Have you decided on a warband already? Maybe some kind of mercenaries since you have Empire models already?
Cheers _________________

| Hi Duce, WELCOME ABOARD!
You could look at your table kind of like in "Field of Dreams": "Build it and they will come." In your case the they will hopefully be fellow gamers; in mine, they'll probably be wearing white coats & carrying nets. While you're waiting on the fellow gamers to start lining up at your front door, you'll find a lot of interesting, inspiring thingys here. ENJOY YOUR STAY! |

| thanks for the welcomes so far.
Yeah its gotta be humans, and with Reikland being clsoe to my heart from years ago reading white dwarf and seeing reikguards kngihts destroying stuff i always had a fondness for the place.
One thing I do notice is when i'm making the warband (9 members seems to be a common thing people have said to aim for due to more before rout and less before wyrdstone trading level. which i'm not sure 100% what that is) is that 500g seems a lot of gold. unless i'm missing somthing when making warbands I seem to have 70gold roughly each time lying about. Thats with 2 weapons on most memebrs and the ranged guys having a sword and captain with pistols etc. |

The best way to get people to play specialist games is to make terrain. Get to know your local game store employees and ask is anyone is interested in your game of choice. If not, make terrain anyway. Usually the owner is down with skirmish games and might play with you, one person is all you need to spark interest - that and a 4x4 table of nice terrain.
Once you get a whole table built just bring it down to the shop and set it up. If no one is willing to play just sit and paint some models next to it. People will be so impressed with your terrain that they'll walk over to look at it and that is when you pounce!!
Talk to them about the game, how easy it is to collect b/c of the small amount of models, and offer to let them use one of your warbands for an into game or two. Get a few people interested and mention that you are starting a campaign soon. Post a recruitment note in the store and see what happens.
If you have no luck, well you wasted a lot of time and money, but hey, everyone needs a hobby! Most people watch more tv a day than i have ever spent modeling, painting and terrain building. |
