| Time for another update methinks. This is the start of the Shaman for the warband. Just blutacked together for just now. I am part way through adding the first layer of robes. When they are on, I'll add the outer layer which will leave him looking very similar to a Nazgul. Hood up over the head, probably covering his eyes. Lots of heavy cloth and furs too. Then finally a load of pouches, scrolls and bottles. p.s. No tutorial yet. I need a model requiring chainmail first, plus someone to take the pics while I sculpt. | |

| One of the random Bretonnian pouches has a pigeon sticking out. I used the pouch at the guys waist and rather than waste the feathers, I added them to his earring. | |

New Marauder Horsemen set. It includes 17 heads for 5 models. Plus loads of other spares. You really can't go wrong buying that box. I've got some of the heads set aside to make Kislevites at some point.

| VERY COOL! With all the robes he's becoming quite bulky; looks good. The wrap around on the belt with all the paraphenalia & that GREAT looking belt buckle ROCK! The feather is a nice touch. I'm looking forwad to seeing how the outer robe/furs work out; it should be SPECTACULAR! WELL DONE! | |

| The robe seems a little bit too "heavy", but the mini looks great ! | |

| The intention was to have heavy robes as Norsca gets cold and the Shaman is getting on in years. The cloak on the Champion was far too thin so I decided to try and get something a little bulkier on this guy so he'd be warmer. | |

| Yeah I def dig the heaviness of the robes, it fits! It seems a shame to add a hood though to obscure the features. | |

| There has been a slight setback on the outer robes. I screwed it up twice, went off in a huff, then decided he's just getting a cloak and furs. Other advantage is you'll still be able to see the sword, pouch and bottle. Now I just need help deciding if he'll still have the hood up over his head. It would add an air of mystery to him, as well as reducing the aggressive/powerful look he has just now. On the other hand, I like painting heads so could either leave the hood off completely or just have it down. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Jackanory has already added his vote to the no hoods side. p.s. Photobucket is currently down for maintenance, but once it's back up I'll be posting pics of the shaman, hounds and a group shot of the band so far as a couple of folk on Warseer requested one. | |

| I like the hood down idea, or maybe a high collar; that head is JUST too cool to obscure. AND,as to the imminent photos, OH BABY! | |

| My vote is hood down as well.
Although if you went high collar, I don't think that'd be bad either (just don't make it as high as the mordheim warlock's).

| I think hood down would work best, however, wearing the hood up could make him more mysterious (much like Inquisitor Solomon Lok from FW). It depends on how much of the cool head you can still see. It would be a shame to hide the details like the cool earring under a cloak). If you can't decide at all, make two, start playing with the hood up and swap the model after it has been knocked down for the first time A hood is needed, as it would be somewhat strange to have a bald man wearing a heavy cloak because it is so cold where he lives, but not have a hood on the cloak. By the way, cat: What did you use for modelling the cloak? | |

| Looks like it'll be hood down then. I'll get started on that when the fur is finished. Eliazar: The cloak is made from Procreate, the same stuff as the rest of the sculpted areas on the model. | |

| Pics! Still needs some tidying up around the collar and earring. The staff hand is magnetized for ease of transport and maybe I'll make some alternative hands for him sometime. And here's the groupshot of the warband so far. The ogre won't be in the band at the start but I'll be purchasing him asap. Still to do: A 2nd Champion and a hench-marauder with throwing axes. Then I'll be making some more henchmen with various weapons for when the warband expands. | |

| Cheers Cianty, but belts aren't all that challenging. The trick is to roll out some putty on a damp tile then let it cure for an hour or two. Then you cut slices witha sharp knife and attach them to the model. The buckle is just a "U-shape" glued over the top. The pin bit is just another sliced piece of the cured putty glued in place. | |

| It doesn't really matter if it is hard to do or not. I found when sculpting what is important is to use the right tools and techniques. There are many tricks you can use to sculpt and model certain things and learning them, finding them out, that's what it's all about. The result is great and that's what counts. I look forward to when I get back to messing about with Green Stuf myself. Currently I have too little time and different focuses... | |

| Matt: Thanks. Jury is still out on the hood debate, although it now looks to be swinging towards no hood at all. Krug: Whenever I get round to doing a chainmail tut, I'll do a fur one as well although I'm not particularly good at fur. Deaf: Thanks for the kind words as always. Right, Chaos Lord has received some attention again. His torso is now attached to his body and he has a fancyish base. I'm now adding details and stuff. The sword has the first stage of a Tzeentch icon and will get a gem and a ribbon like Aekold's old Windblade. Less waffle, more pics! | |
