“Here be the place lads,” explained Captain Jack to his undead crew of cutthroats, “the map says here be treasure. Start lootin’ the buildings until it’s ours.” The two ship mates, Blackbeard and Redbeard, deployed their crew with the orders of searching the surrounding buildings.
As zombie crewmen and gunners began to infiltrate the hollowed out structures of past buildings in front of them, the cabin boy, Jim, took it upon himself to find the treasure without any help. He hurried up a narrow, dark alleyway towards a tower he saw in the distance. He figured if someone left a treasure in this forsaken part of town, it would be in the impregnable tower that stood before him.
While Jim was off on his own, the mates escorted their Captain into a Chapel a little further into town. The sound from nearby buildings of tables being turned over and cabinets being smashed reassured the Captain that the treasure would soon be found. Much to his dismay, his lifeless crew stumbled towards him, empty-handed. “Keep searchin’ you buncha scurvy dogs, the treasure be here somewhere!” shouted the Captain as he inspected the church for any valuables.
At this time, Jim was almost upon the tower when something whizzed past his face and stuck into the wooden store front behind him. He quickly took cover around the corner of the building to survey the situation he had gotten himself into. “Shiver me timbers, the Captain won’t be happy with this” he mumbled to himself.
The Captain was helping himself to some golden candle sticks that adorned the empty church, when he saw Jim hurry inside. “Sir, it seems we’ve been beat to the treasure by the likes of some humans!, Jim explained frantically. “Avast, we shant give up without a fight!”, ordered the Captain.
Not a second later, another arrow zipped past, this time through a broken out window, sticking in a pew in front of the gunners. “Bretonnian scum, there upon the tower!, said Blackbeard to his Captain as he peered from a window. From his hiding place, Captain Jack saw two peasants, dressed in the likely hood of their province, hurry off with a large chest between the two of them. “Tis too late lads, the treasure be gone”, said the solemn Captain to his men, “stay low until the shooting stops, need not perish over a lost bounty”.
A few minuets later, all signs of the interfering humans were gone, and the Captain ordered his men to continue to search the town. “Gather up any bits o’ wyrdstone ye’ find, we shant be leaving with nothing”, ordered the Captain. On his search, Redbeard managed to find a small deposit that had broken off from the comet, with two gleaming spires of the precious green stone jutting out. At the same time, the Captain saw an abandoned shop that appeared to be untouched. Inside, he found a small merchants pouch with a few gold crowns in it. Every little bit helps he thought, as he stuck it in his jacket pocket and rejoined the rest of the crew.

This was a very quick game. My opponent out smarted me by waiting for me to search most of the buildings, then he just put his men in all the buildings left, making sure he found the treasure. To give him more credit, he searched the closest building to his table edge last, so it was easiest for him to run away with the treasure from that point. Nobody was even hit in the scenario and it only lasted 3 turns, however everyone survived and gained experience, so I couldn’t complain.

P.S. I know the names aren't great, or the story for that matter, I rushed it out because I was bored for a little while at school and ran out of time.

Nice story, much funner to read than a standard battle report. Don't fret the names, they work great for pirates! A note on that scenario, you can either play it as it is, but remember the strategy of leaving the building closest to your edge for last. Or you can change it a bit, we've done it where you can only advance as far as you've searched. That seemed to work out well. Anywho, a short game gives you time to fight another!

Yes, I am slightly ashamed I didn't realize what I was doing until it was too late, but at least I learned a new tactic for the future if I roll this scenario with another person. The story didn't have much action because the entire time, all that happened was a bowman shot in two different turns, and that was it. I just hid everyone once I realized he had the treasure, no sense in taking any casualties when he was going to be off the board with it next turn anyway.
