So in a bid to get a warband actually finished for once (I always lose it midway through painting) here be some models for a mordheim pirate crew!

First up is my lady captain herself!

Then we have our mates! (Want to try and get some pistols to add onto their waists and the captain)

And then the cabin boys! I gave them cultist bodies to make them look like they had crappy old gear because theg hadn't yet earnt some pirate finery being the runts of the crew.

And what pirate crew would be right without some... Well crew!

I haven't yet sorted out lists or names I just wanted to start getting some models made to paint, plan to have a variety of crew to swap in and out as necessary etc. Provided a lot of dual wielders. Gunners are gonna be hardest to convert with the frostgrave crew alas, but I'll try!

A fine start to a warband!

...Though part of me panics to see they aren't all based to match.

Yeah basically I had used the frostgrave bases for those models but then one of my heroes was already on a round so I figured 'why not do heroes on rounds and crew on flats?' to make the heroes stand out a bit more but I may just swap everyone onto the proper round bases. Make them a bit more uniform, and raised.

Also thanks for the compliments everyone Smile Hoping to get some paint thrown on them soon!

So it's been a while! Things have been busy here but since I started up doing rangers of the shadow deep with friends at the club it's made me realize it would be a much better idea to put together a pool of various lovely skirmish models as opposed to set groups and warbands each time, this would work for raggamuffin groups who don't necessarily need to be uniform like pirates or mercenaries and let me have fun and go wild with making models (also let me use fun models for multiple things!). So anyway here's what I've been working on today:

First up is a fun ranger type, simple model but has really nice dynamic feel. Fun to work with and paint! Great hero archer for mercenaries.

Next up is one of my pirate mates finally getting some paint! And honestly I didn't realize how nice this sculpt really was till I painted him. Oozing character.

As soon as I saw this zombicide sculpt I fell in love. Shame my painting doesn't do it justice (rip faces) but she's pretty perfect for a mercenary hero. I'm even thinking of running tileans to use her and other 'duelist' style models.

Hopefully they'll be finished soon. Definitely can't wait to get them on the table!

Cheers guys! I'm really enjoying the work on rag tag human types and hopefully will get some more paint on them later tonight Smile Next step will be to get some warbands written up for them to star in. Will be sure to post the updates on various models as I go!

Ahh, some modelling/gaming issues there I know well. "I like this model (or these models) & might build a warband around them" is how I made my Dogs of War Tilean warband. & making models fulfil more than one role is also handy -- I have some elves who are part of three different Lord of the Rings armies, plus serving in Kings of War & Warlords of Erehwon...

Nice work on the models! Good colour choices especially.
