Hi,

Quote from rule:
"... .This model must move as quickly as possible
towards the nearest enemy model, charging into combat if
possible. If there are no enemy models within sight, the Orc
or Goblin warrior may make a normal move immediately."
Henchman "may make move" if no enemy within sight is clear to me and player decides if he likes to move that warrior.

I don't see a run here, except charge. So, the question is: Is that henchman ran and that way can't shoot OR is he moved and gets -1 To Hit in Shooting? Because, after Animosity tests, you can make your move/run/charge normally.
I would say he has moved and gets the -1 To Hit (if not charged or ran), but what is the official rule here?

After the warrior moved he get a -1 hit modifier to ranged to hit tests.

True, but if there is a enemy within sight (warrior can see one), but the distance is over his charge range, does this warrior run towards the enemy or move(what is not running)? Because if he run he can't shoot at all, but rule doesn't say that the warrior runs, but move only?

"If there are no enemy models within sight, the Orcor Goblin warrior may make a normal move immediately."

" If the extra move takes the Orc or Goblin warrior within charge reach of an enemy model, the warrior must charge into close combat during his regular movement."

Note that you must not measure the charge range.

"Without measuring the distance, declare that your model is charging..."

Actually you need to measure that charge range as: "If the extra move takes the Orc or Goblin warrior within charge reach", which means you are in charge range. This has to be measured after warrior's extra move to find out is he within charge reach, forcing him to charge to that enemy on his actual movement phase.

But the run or move is still a question. Like, example: if distance between orc henchman and enemy is 20" and he can see the enemy(within sight). In this way he has to move (no running as is said in rules) towards that enemy, which means he ends up 16" away from that enemy. Now, he won't charge(because he is not within charge reach), but decides now if he likes to shoot as he only "walked"(moved).

You have to guess the range In this situation I think.

Read again the animosity rule I highlighted for you that the warrior may move.

In this example, it's obvious that the Orc must run because otherwise he's not moving "as quickly as possible"

No guessing here, it's in conflict with the rule: "If the extra move takes the Orc or Goblin warrior within charge reach of an enemy model ..." How you can make answer (yes or no) to this question by guess? If I have a choice to guess the range, then I would answer few inches too much to make sure the next part of the rule never apply (i.e. avoiding failed charge)?
Declaring charge applies in this rule only if the warrior is within charge range.

May move option is only if there is no enemy within sight.

Read my first post: "This model must move as quickly as possible
towards the nearest enemy model, charging into combat if
possible." He must move(not run) or charge if close enough?. So in this very first phase you already measure the distance between the warrior and enemy to check whether he charges or not.

For example: there is 12" distance between orc and enemy. Before orc rushes(walks?) towards enemy by 4" and ends up to remaining 8", this distance need to be measured. Now we now he already would end up within charge range and must declare charge on that enemy on his normal movement phase.
If the distance was 13" or more, the charge wouldn't be applied ever.

"Quickly as possible" <- that what I was thinking. Still, there is no running here and that part is just a narration from the situation. Everybody can makes their own assumptions about descriptive lines, but it's not a rule. There would be "run quickly as possible", wouldn't there?

In my group we interpreted the 'move as quickly as possible' to mean that you must take the most direct path towards the visible enemy and aren't allowed to e.g. wander him back and forth and effectively move him only a few millimeters closer to the enemy.

We tried interpreting the 'move as quickly as possible' to mean he must run, but then that led to situations when a henchman had about a 16" charge range (8" running and then 8" charging) and that was just silly.
