Thanks guys. I'm striving for a wasteland tundra look, the weight of autumn and the dimishing light. A very Finnish thing I guess but since some of us are Finnish it kinda of fits in.

The board is made from Finnfoam, an isolation material. It was wrapped in some kind of aluminium sheet so when I ripped it of it formed these nice "flakes" in the board. Then it was painted dark grey using standard Bauhaus colours. After the paint had dried I used a Bunsen burner on it to form those bubbles. It was the highlighted roughly with lighter Bauhaus paint and then more detailed with gw paints. Afterwards I painted it with the lightest shade of Armypainter Quickshade. While the paint was wet I sprinkled birch seeds, static grass and sands on top of the board.

This is the result.

LOOKIN' GOOD! I get a similar nice rough texture with the insulation foam I use also. It has a vinyl like peel off cover. Considering the Winters you get, the tougher aluminum sound like a winner.   What a Face
