Orc sheild disaster - ideas needed.

I attach my shields with poster putty (Blu-tac specifically) so that I don't have to have models that differ only in if they have a shield or not. Being similarly dressed, my Marienburgers and Orcs use the same shields. Sadly, when I went to start a new campaign I could not find the bag of shields and I find myself at a total loss to think of suitable replacements. My finances are quite limited so I will have to make them and my bits box is in a different country so that is limited also.

For the purposes of calibration, the shields I *was* using are the ones from Al Muktar's Desert Dogs like the one this guy has: Desert dog with shield. My warband (which is still not completely painted despite a good 6 or so years of playing with them looks like this:.

So, the question is what is the best-looking fancy shield solution that is a good compromise between cheap, easy, and good? Something that looks like a Marienburger or fancy Orc would use?

I'm afraid I really can't think of a good, cheap & easy replacement either. You could go with something blank like these from Perry: https://www.perry-miniatures.com/product_info.php?products_id=2776

Nice and cheap but you'd have to fancy them up yourself.

Those would cost a bit too much for my budget at the moment, sorry. They do look like nice shields though.

I think I will have to go to the hardware store and the second hand store for inspiration. Some sort of washer or cap or ear-ring perhaps...

My best advice is the old empire shields, the round ones with the lion, but they are probaly not cheap either.

What about dwarf shields?? The fit pretty good with rich empire, and orcs could have looted them...

Other that that, some of the older shields, the round ones from dwarf, skaven goblin, with some bling on them, maybe elf/dark elf ones.

Maybe not such a disaster after all. I am pretty sure I am sitting on a bag of about 100 of those shields that I got back in the day of bitz sales. How many would you need?

Just 6. I only use the fancy shields for my heroes - the henchmen just get regular shields. And since I never use both my orcs and my Marienburgers on the table at once, I use the shields for both.

If you want to PM me your address, I am happy to send you the six shields. I live in WV so shipping wont be that much for me as it looks like you live in NY.
