I'm in the midst of a relatively productive spell...painting-wise that is; SO the Blessed Knights of the Gooey Death & their Mercenary Minions have received some long overdue attention. Here are some TRULY mediocre photos of the Lads & Lady thus far:

The Lead Adventure Mercenaries, as a group:

W. Von Shakespeare & Herald:

W. Von Tell:

The Finders of Lost Objects aka the Thieving Looters:

The Morale Officer with Marching Band AND yhe first of the Pistoleers:

The Pistoleer Group:

..The Finished One:

PLUS The Witch I didn't include (lack of time is the excuse) with floedebolle's Summer Package:

W0W! Your camera really hates you Razz

The minis look wonderful when one can see them. I don't suppose the witch has appeared before? She reminds me of The Ancient One, always appearing as a shadow...

Thanks, Jim...glad you like them. I really am pleased with how they turned out. The first two photos are pretty decent & gave moi hope for the shoot, but all the others are dark & slightly blurry...very disappointing. I give them another try sometime soon.   What a Face

...SO I took some new photos of the Lads & Lass which surprisingly turned out somewhat better than the first batch, you can be the judge of that:

Oh BABY! I really like your work on the Landskneckts be they human, dwarf or halfling. Very inspiring. Where is the witch model from? And the marching band? (You may have said earlier, but I've slept since then.)

Thanks, Jim...I take it the new photos are more to your liking...that's a relief.   What a Face

The Witch is from Reaper's 02904 Witch Coven:

Loads of nice pictures of cool models with a good paint job and wonderfully detailed bases. Great work!

...well actually, he didn't go anywhere; i.e., the model was finished several years ago. He had his base remove for inclusion on the Spooky Woods Board. That didn't happen. SO he sat, looking forlorn for years awaiting a new base...it was noticed that pieces stored in proximity to him seemed to disappear. Be that as it may, I finally gave him a new base, did some touch ups, & took some less than wonderful photos of him. Since he is more of a character than a terrain piece I've stuck him here with the Gangs:

...now isn't that a sad expression?

...side & top views:

...there you go.
Now however I have a variation of The Teddy Bears' Picnic running through my head...one must suffer for one's art.   clown

Make yourself comfortable; re, this might take awhile to get through. Having just now...now meaning before I took the photos & went through the LONG & LABORIOUS uploading rigormaroll...finished the last of the Pistoleers, I thought an update was in order. In addition to the Dashing Pony Guys I took a new set of photos of the Mercenary Dwarven Rogues, Wizard, & his Froggy Friend; i.e., a second try at some of the poorer photos.

SO without further ado, The Pistoleers:

The Mercenary Dwarf Rogues:

..some close ups of the Gang startingg with the Captain & his trusty Halberdier:

...Beardling & Babe:

..Sharpshooter & Engineer:

...Halberdiers:

...The Veterans, Doppel Dwarfs:

...the Hangers On, Dead Dick Turnip & his Goblin associate:

...the Wizard & his Henchfrog:

AND the Group Portraits:

...there you have it...you can stop whining now.  clown

VERY nice colourful minis Nala!

Are the bases sculpted? I really like the stone effect, I wonder if the same technique could be used for cobblestones?!

Thanks for the reply, Dougie...glad you like them. The bases are sculpted out of plumber's epoxy putty, which is very similar to Milliput...it just dries quicker.   What a Face

This is a double post; i.e., I already have it posted in the Gallery, but for the Folk that don't haunt that section...

OH HAPPY DAYS! The Knights of the Blessed Order of the Gooey Death are FINALLY DONE! AND, without further ado, here they are:

The Knights with the Pistoleers in support:

As WONDERFUL as the miniature are & as enjoyable as they were to paint, it is a GLORIOUS feeling of release having them done.  clown

Congrats on their completion. I hope to have that feeling of accomplishment one of these days...

Don't you LOVE those Epic Movies that start with a dramatic scene of some vast area...like the Negev or some such desert in Lawrence of Arabia? Then the camera zooms in on The Hero as the theme music builds in the background. Well I took some photos of The Vault of Pack Rattiness & my Work Tables from HELL! for a rant about something I've decided not to get into AND, rather than waste them, I decided a cinematic approach to my diminutive Heroes-in-Progress would be a fine & inappropriate idea. SO sns the music, here we go:

The Work Space (well actually 2/3 of the work space, but let's not quibble):

...sweeping majestically past the Monochromatic Scenery:

...& the Dark Hold Goblins:

...we approach the Heroes:

...a leap into the Present:

...& a few possible distractions...hedging my bets:

...there you go. Wasn't that fun?   clown
