| Hey all! I told you I'd be a bugger, so I have a couple of questions for you. 1- how much terrain is too much? For example, how many houses, and how packed together are they? 2 - what is the width you use for your main streets and alleys? Cheers!

| I find that about 80% of the board covered in terrain feels right. Streets shouldn't be more than 6" across at the widest, to keep M4 models from getting stranded out in the open on them. And even for areas that aren't covered in ruins, be sure to pile up barrels, crates, rubble, broken carts, etc to provide cover and places to form chokepoints. Without these precautions shooty warbands and those with superior numbers will pretty much always have a huge advantage. | |

| Well, as powerposey said, jam packed! I would always try to achieve a very medieval table, where rooftops meet each other , that will create dark alleys, and some nice parts to let your warbands jump the rooftops, without giving it to much risk to do so. BUT i would also consider the playability of that terrain, doesnt help if one cant move the models through the ruins without asking your three yearold kid to do it for you, cause you cant get you greasy sausage fingers in the house! _________________ Lord Flasheart: And always remember - if you want something, take it! | I htink we all agree! Jam packed with about 6" TOPS for street width.. I would do narrower, but you need room to get into and around stuff....
I just wish I had enough scenery to do that!

| We play with varying width depending on who set up the table and how much scenery is available. Streets can be 6-12" wide and we may have as many as twenty ruin bases on a table and as few as eight intact buildings. We might have clutter and we might not. I am always tickled that the guy who hates shooting warbands always sets up tables that are shooter heaven because he hates setting up the scenery, too.
We play at the local game store and bring our own terrain on game nights.

| The more the better, however, do keep an eye on you and your fellow gamers hands... it is awesome to behold the narrow corridors and alleyways you can create, but it is very hard to get your hands down to ground level if you have buildings that are 3 storeys high. If you have low scattered scenery to use as cover in your streets, then you have plenty of acces with your hands, and enough tactical positions for your models. - some low (1/2 storeys high) ruins can also work well by the side of your streets.
but yes, tons of scenery, and preferably different elevations and some tunnels work great!

| First of all, thank you very much for the comments!
I was thinking of packing the table full of scenery, with the majority of them being 1 or 2 story high buildings with the occasional 3 story high building - one in every 5 or 6 buildings. The vast majority of these would be broken down and in ruins, with a few actually having impact craters with only the outer walls barely keeping together. I was thinking of throwing in a graveyard and a big church (the most intact ruin of them all) as well as the obligatory town square.
As for the street width, I was considering the main streets to be 4" long while the alleyways can be 1 or 2" wide.
All comments and suggestions are appreciated

| I'd avoid 1" alleys, as models that are posed dramatically or dynamically may have issues fitting in them. Otherwise it sounds like a good plan! | |
