PostSubject: Bra'tac's Marauder/Norse Warband   Wed 23 Apr 2014 - 3:45

Good day Borelings,

Having started building Terrain,
I had to start building my Warband as well.
I could have chosen the "easy" way and finish my Averland warband but instead I decided I had to do something that required more converting.... or. I just always find a reason to start something new....and then never finish the old project  Rolling Eyes

On warseer I came across a Marauder concept I really liked and so I borrowed "read stole" Nordic's Bestigor converted into marauder concept. more here

So using Nordic's concept my warband will be based on the Vikings from the movie Pathfinder (movie ain't that great, but IMHO those are the best Vikings I've ever seen)
but my warband will mostly be using hammers,... because of Thor.. Viking

Unfortunately I did not take any WIP pics of my almost finished Jarl/chieftain.

Just have to finish his shoes.

I'll take some WIP shots of the 2 I'm working on, when I get home tonight.

Thanks for looking,

cheers,

Bra'tac

The idea of a shiny, new project is alluring to be sure. At any rate, the new Marauder on the block is a FINE conversion. Have FUN with the shinies!   thumbsup

COOL! I love my Dremel too...with moi, it's sometimes like a one man Texas chainsaw massacre though. The Beast Guys & the tower door have definite potential. Keep up the GOOD WORK!   thumbsup

Thanks DN! I shall do my utter most best!

Throwing in a little Quest models I've been working on.

First my Estalian Half Ogre former Black guard (counts as Bretonnian Knight)
Still got a lot of work to do, I'm not really satisfied with him at the moment, especially have seconds thoughts about the belt, chainmail and armour plate covering his buttocks.
and I think I should make his torso a little bulkier.
His Arms are just pinned not glued, still pondering on his final pose.

Next up a test conversion for the few chaos warriors needed for various levels.
He still has some nasty moldlines, other than that just some minor sculpting here and there, and then he should be ready for painting.

thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Bra'tac

Thanks DN, I think I'll have no problem enjoying painting him.... if I ever start painting Rolling Eyes

thanks Shalen,... not that you have,  (with a bit of unintended cheating on my side.... Embarassed ) you still like them?

So I've been busy with renovating some stuff in my house, painting furniture etc.
and when I was working on miniatures I once again forgot to take proper WIP pics. (sue me Razz )
Our campaign has started, and as expected I'm running behind with modelling miniatures and terrain!

in the campaign I've lost vs Dark Elves, lost one hero, but earned enough to buy a new one.

I won from Shalen, mostly because my seer took control of his Magister I later remembered that I had to target the closest enemy model.... so the Henchmen his Magister knocked out, had to be the target and not the magister....it mattered not because Shalen would have lost anyway.... really that guy can't pass a rout test even if it would save his life!! lol!

I've won vs Pit fighters, my seer took control of their Ogre, who unfortunately escaped his clutches and charged my leader, buuuuut my leader killed the Ogre after we both did nothing in 4 rounds of combat, in the 5th round my Leader once more swung his hammer but this time he hit target, Critical hit, rolling a 6,  instant killing the ogre....(well he had to wait until the post game injury phase before it was made official)

during the income phase, I found a long lost friend (free hired sword) and couldn't resist to take an ogre as hired sword, to further annoy my friend for loosing his ogre jocolor

So enough campaign chatter, on to the pics

first up my Seer, still a WIP, I want to add dragon scales/daemon skin to the staff, and have to fix his neck arms and hands.

One of my Hero's (the one that died during the first game, version 1.2 performs much much better)
Also WIP, lot's of green/brownstuffing to be done.

A henchmen with Bow (Playing Kurgan), lots to do...

and last but certainly not least, my Condemned!!
He's finished,..I guess. I have to give him a good inspection before i'll grab the spraycan and basecoat him.

let me know what you think, advise, suggestions, stuff to add/remove etc...

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Bra'tac

UBERCOOL STUFF! They all have a SPLENDID animation to them. The condemned is my favorite in the Group...there is a Hulk resemblance there. GREAT WORK!   thumbsup
