Hey everyone!,

I'm about to get into my very first league of Mordheim and thought I should check in with you folks and see if I couldn't get some advice! I've played... one game so far. So my experience is preeetty limited. I'm looking at rolling with Beastmen this time. They're one of my favorite races and I have them for Fantasy, which is double good! I made up a warband but I'm considering some changes here based on things I've seen/read. Any thoughts would be swell!

Chieftain
Heavy Armour, Hammer and Axe

Bestigor
Hammer x2, Heavy Armour

Bestigor
Heavy Armour, Halberd

Bray Shaman
Hammer and Dagger

Gor x2
Hammer x4

Gor x2
Hammer x2 and Axe x2

Warhound x2

Ta da! That should put me right at 500 since there is a 50% armour house rule. I kind of like the amount of bodies here. We should be able to run a train on those suckah humans, I think. I was thinking of swapping out one pack of gor and the warhounds for the ol' centigor with heavy armour and maybe a shield and axe (M7 is still fast!). This should make me a little more money but then I'm losing 3 bodies and some experience to be gained for the gor. However, there's another house rule giving a 3 game 'can't permenantly die thing' for heroes. So not only would I get more money from the hero, but I'm assured that he won't be permenantly capped anytime soon. I could also skimp on the armour and keep the hounds so he has a bit of an escort?

Heeeelp!

Do you mean that armour costs 50% less? Unless you have other house rules, I'd skip the armour for now and buy all your heroes and some gors for LGT.

Howdy!,

Yep, sorry, armour costs 50% less. That would be a good idea to drop the armour maybe. Especially since there's that 3 game buffer of heroes not being able to die. There's not so much of a chance of getting capped!

Thanks Von Kurst!

Yeah, even with the house rule making it cheaper, probably better to get the armor after a few games. Best reason to get it from the start is if you play by strict WYSIWYG and don't want to have to make two alternate versions of each model. Getting the Centigor is going to be important for income, and it's a speedy, resilient threat, which is great for a close combat warband.

Yeah, I'm liking the sound of that now! Think I'll strip those fellas naked. This way I should only have to drop a gor or so and I'd have enough points for the centigor. Yay!

Thanks fellas!
