Magnoliafan - regarding the Slayers - note their weapons. Two with two axes, and two with doublehanded axes. Its always nice to have multiple hero alternates - especially if you play with the WYSIWYG-rule :-)
The same thing is going to happen with my new orc BigUns (I will end up having 6 alternates in total).

PostSubject: Orchish update   Sun 1 Feb 2009 - 7:22

Hi everybody.

I finally got around to finish up a few more miniatures for my second (and bigger) orc gang.

I might add a few extra things on the minis, such as crossbows, or perhaps a shield in the back of one - but honestly I haven't figured that out yet... I will in time though jocolor

Well time for some pics

First I have to more Big Un options
Front (I really dig the one with the mail coif)

Back

And another two Big Un options
Front

Back

Then I have my AoW Shaman and a orc regular henchman (made from the body of a Dragon Rune Miniatures orc with a GW orc plastik head (the originals were just terrible)... I still have 7 more to go with different hand weapons and such - these will be my orc henchmen.
Front

Back

And at last my Gamezone Miniature Troll - Its puking time, you had better duck (even though its an automatic hit affraid)
Front

Profile

Back

And thats about it for now. I still have quite a few henchmen to finish (orcs and fantics) and one more hero option (the AoW orc lord). I will see when I can get these done Very Happy

Over and out for now

Man, your painting skill and dipping technique are terrific!

These are some of the best bands I have ever seen and must be a pleasure to play with or againts any of them.

Thanks for sharing your brilliant work with us.

Best wishes.

WOW!

I really like your work. The Orcs and Goblins are my favorite. They read very well from gaming height. The goblins are picturesque and perfectly fluffy.
Your Dwarves are very clean and nicely painted.
It's always great when a player has two warbands that hate each other's guts.
Though I could never bring myself to build a Witch Hunter or Sisters warband for my Undead.

Ouh jeah. These I like very much. Squigs tongue is so slime. I imagine so slime drops flying away when squig sprints to meet new enemiens.
Nice colors you have picked from goblins. Me like it. Very Happy

PostSubject: Beastly update   Tue 2 Jun 2009 - 12:50

OK - since my blog has been moved to page two of the miniatures gallery, I figured it was time for an update.

I have been painting - just not taking any pictures.

Up first is a beastman gang I am painting for my friends Jan, who has been helping with my scenery. I still have a few miniatures to go, but I am more than halfway there. These miniatures are so big, I can't paint and dip them, so they are painted the old fashion way cheers - I am not sure this looks a lot better, but it is definately more timeconsuming.

The miniatures used are from "Hordes - Circle Orboros" - Primarily Ravagers - They are very nice, but imho there are to many details to paint, and it takes FOREVER to finish every single one of them Sleep

I do have a second official GW beastman gang on the way - but so far I have only started on the minotaur, and there is still a loooog way to go (these will be dipped Laughing)

Anyway here are a few pics

Possible the Chieftain (not sure yet) - I might add a sword to his free hand
Front

Back

The Centigor - I also might change his weapon as spears or lances aren't an option for this warband.

Possibly beastigor or Shaman
Front

Back

Minotaur (urgh - I don't want to face that one alone Shocked)
Front

Back

Normal gor
Front

Back

Another gor - plus possible hero if promoted.

Chaos Hound (from Gamezone miniatures)

Group shots

From the top - Without flash

From the top - With Flash

Opps where did that guy come from (ultraforge miniatures) - big fella WIP (just needs tattoos, matt sealer and some grass on the base)

The beastmen are HUGE compared to other "normal miniatures" - what the heck do you think this guy is Very Happy

Thats it for now - I still have five more chaos hounds to go (they are not that diffecult to paint) and three more Hordes miniatures (one gor, one possible shamam (or beastigor) and one beastigor.

Phew - quite a post - Let me know what you think.

I will post an orcish update in the near future...

VERY IMPRESSIVE! You've done some EXTRAORDINARY WORK on some REALLY gorgeous minis. AND the background terrain IS a fine match for the minis. It will take MANY a pleasant browse through all the GREAT photos until I can fully appreciate all the nuances of these Guys. WONDERFULLY WELL DONE! thumbsup

Very cool Alex! Thanks for posting those pics!

I like the use of (Tharn) HORDES Minis, in particular because you picked "my" faction (Circle of Orboros) Wink

The colour scheme is almost exactly the one i used on my possessed... did you use Vallejo Uniforme Inglés, Marrón cuero and arena oscura by any chance?

I'm very impressed with your painting. You've done some of the best painting of "eyes" that I have seen. Grade A, top notch.
