Basically, this is the situation:

A Hero, wearing Heavy Armour, is mounted on a Barded Warhorse. Heavy Armour & Shield gives a -1M penalty, but does this apply to the mount as well? Or does the Barding? And what if the Warhorse isn't wearing Barding?

Answers would be much appreciated! Razz

I would say that the movement penalty for wearing the Heavy Armour and Shield does not affect a horse's movement (or a warhorse's either), but only the barding would give the horse a movement penalty, if it did have barding.

We play it as a -2 movement penalty following the rules from Warhammer 5th edition. -1 for Barding and -1 for Heavy Armor and Shield.

I guess that is fair. Having so much weight on his back would affect the horses movement whether it was directly on top of him, or being worn by someone on top.

That's heavy, man! Razz

I was thinking of going -1 if they were wearing all of it, so a mounted rider with Light Armour or Ithilmar (in our rules) would not get the penalties on a Barded Warhorse.

Right. Nor would a warrior wearing Gromril or Chaos Armor and shield suffer a penalty since those armors don't suffer a movement penalty for carrying a shield.

To be honest, most of our original group were Warhammer players and we just carried a number of Warhammer rules over into our Mordheim games if Mordheim didn't have a rule already (or in some cases even if it did.) Surprised
