| Marlon Brando! We want Marlon Brando too! And Blanche. The waterfront looks suitably seedy, yet cheerful. In a chaotic, mutated sort of way... | |

| Thanks, V.K.! I wonder if anyone makes an On the Waterfront Marlon...maybe one of the Pulp mini makers. The next board over from the Shanty Town will be a Graveyard & then a new section of the Spooky Woods. Now I'm thinking of adding another board on the far side of the Isles that has Smugglers' Den, space to moor my Goblin ships, & access to open water...The Project is taking over what I have left for a life. | |

| Thanks for the kind words, JoaoS. Be inspiring is about the finest of compliments. I finished the right hand corner of the beach front & applied the first coat of gloss finish to the water. Things are coming along at a surprising pace. | |

| Thanks for the kind words, Guys! @Braxen: there are another 40 pages of posts in Part I...the Forum System lopped these pages off & they're slowly drifting off into the back pages of Tom's Oblivion. You could check them out if you'd like to see more strange terrain. @floedebolle: In a swamp things tend to sink in the mud, ergo the stilts. Actually the part of Long Island where I was a boy, there was a swamp & at least on shack on stillts...probably a smuggler's place from he Prohibition Era. | |

| As the title says, I've made some small progress the Hole-In-The-Wall Tavern & Tenement has been mounted with a walkway joining it to the rest of Shanty Town AND some ladders for easy access (if you're agile or daring), more Mushroom Guys, & the first poster....sounds more impressive when listed than viewed. Here's the view along the water front with the new Tree & Mushrooms in the foreground. Mother Jo's new stove pipe is also in view: Up close: with the Poster (For A Good Time Fast Flo's): A Vulture's view showing of the new walkway & some ladders for the sharp eye observer: I'm thinking of adding this tree to the Shanty Town...the upcoming Graveyard is another possible location: SO that's where The Project stands as of now. Comments & Critiques are, as always, most welcome...mostly. | |

| Ah the neighborhood looks suitably disreputable and seedy (though it seems to sprout mushrooms rather than plants...) Love the additions, the place is definitely coming together, (yet seems in danger of falling apart). The new tree will look great wherever you decide to plant it. Though if it stays in this neighborhood I hope it gets some foliage... | |

| Thanks, V.K.. It does have a lived & died horribly in look to it. I'm not sure whether the tree will be spouting foliage or deceased, but it is now planted. There's still plenty of room for some more shacks & a distillery. | |

| Always fun to see what's new in your wacky world! Never disapointed The ground texture on the board is just wood glue and sand? I like the choice of color ... what have you used? | |

| Thanks. izmerul...I'm glad you're enjoying The Project! For the groundwork I use watered down tacky glue & craft sand. When thoroughly dry, I paint it with a mix of Heritage Brick & Georgia Clay, then a dry brush of a Georgia Clay & Honey Brown mix, AND finally a straight Honey Brown mix...these are all Americana paints. | |

| IT'S UPDATE TIME! May I have an " OH BABY!"? As Hooligan's approaches completion, I thought a few photos were in order...or not. SO without further ado: A long shot of both boards as they are now: The Vulture's take on things: Around Hooligan's: The Brewery proper: The Brewer's Oast & Tanks should be done by this time next week. Then on wit the detailing...my favorite part...& possibly another shack or two. In the interim your kind comments, critique, suggestions, et al would be most welcome. | |

| Thanks, JoaoS! God made the tree. It's a cutting from a yew shrub. Sage brush, aka tumble weed, also makes some outstanding miniature trees. My contribution was the painting. | |

| The shrubs/brush are quite hardy & get tougher as they age, The sage brush is particularly tree-like...I hope to pick up some more this Winter. | |

| I've never had trouble with rotting branches ... as long as it's already dead and detached when you pick it up I'd say the only thing can go wrong is breaking it.
Funny your town reminds me of New Mexico and a Bayou area near New Orleans at the same time ^^
... and then there's giant shrooms | |
