| My group and I were discussing miscast in Mordheim, and tried to google it, but it seems like no one has thought about this before. That would be odd, so we figured to ask in here whether some of you have experience with it in Mordheim, or any suggestions to how a miscast table would look like. We were thinking double six could do something as well, like the spellcaster causes fear for the rest of the game, or something alike. If you got any input for this, please comment all you can! // Aipha | |

| I'd say just use the miscast system from the 7th edition | |

| There is a miscast table for when double 1s are rolled in the Sorcerous Society warrant from Letters of the Damned (issue 4 I think) . I don't know where you can find it online but it is available in my Skydrive share in my signature. | |

| Sounds pretty fun to me, we're gonna try it out If anyone else has other suggestions for a miscast table, feel free to suggest! | |

| We have played that warband and enjoyed the miscast table. Eventually the player purchased rabbit's feet for all of his warriors for the sole purpose of protection against miscast. | |

| In my group I used miscasts to balance the slightly stronger magic of the College Expedition warband I made. I have only used it in a few campaigns, but anyway, the relevant part of this is that the miscast table I used was pretty much a direct copy of the sourcerous warband. I tweaked it slightly for the College warband to make 2 less deadly (instant OOA instead of instant death) and 12 less amazingly super-awesome (random free cast for *someone* instead of free mutation). The table was fun to use and the toned-down one is less of a millstone in a long-term campaign. The warband in question is here. | |

| Can understand that, RationalLemming! ^_^ Thanks Lord 0, OOA seems more fair than DEAD for the 12, I had something in mind with a double cast, but I'll see what the group says | |

| A roll of 12 may not be good if the rules for Corrupted Characters are used. That is probably another reason to consider changing it as it would potentially penalise 'good' magic using warbands while empowering 'chaotic' magic using warbands. Of course, it also adds extra danger which can be fun for story telling! | |

| we use the btb miscast table "the pdf is called forces of nature" with the additional winds of magic rule that you cannot re-roll a miscast, because we have invested so much time and equipment into our heroes (aprox 700 games in this campaign alone) rolling a miscast of your awesome spellcaster is terrifying | |

| Odd. The BTB miscast table appears to be exactly the same as the miscast table in Letters of the Damned 4 (Sorcerous Society) except with different headings for each roll! Cianty mustn't have liked Chris and Brahm's choice of wording for headings. | |

If only the BTB rules weren't written before . Actually I believe Brahm did give credits to the BTB rules in his warband document. | |

| We have a simple rule for Miscasts (double one's only), just roll on the injury table. If the model is taken OOA, then use your imagination if you roll something crazy on the chart. Lost an eye, could be a tentacle popped out of the socket | |
