| My Warband's backstory is merely another internal conflict within Middenland's nobility; the Graf of Carroburg sees the Mordheim situation as a way to put more power toward either Middenheim or Reikland for the Crown, gaining in exchange the Countship (and Elector-seat) of Middleland. They have access to some Ulric/Middenland themes-units, but use Reikland merc rules, as they are south enough to be cosmopolitan and civilized enough to be able to operate under a structured military system. Starting list is: Merc Captain, "Le Boss", sword, dueling pistol, dagger Champ, "Otto", Two-handed sword, dagger Champ, "Han", sword, dagger Youngblood, "Le Kid", sword, dagger Youngblood, "Sergio", spear, buckler, dagger 1x Marksman, "Le Tiléan", crossbow, dagger 3x Marksman, "Braconniers de la Darkwald" (Darklwald Poachers), bows, dagger 2x Swordsmen "Lames D'Ulric" (Blades of Ulric), sword, buckler, dagger I am painting them by groups; I am completed my Captain, Le Boss, next comes my Champions, Otto and Han! | I'm still doing Otto and Han, the Champions. It's almost the same colours as Le Boss, then I'll do white shirts with Blue vests, maybe make one green, I'm not sure yet. Right-Click for a bigger picture. | |

| The choice of heads give the models a lot of character right away. | |

| As a fun fact, only the Champions and the Blades of Ulric are made without helmets in my warband; everyone else has at least a leather cap...Sorta fit the Champion monkier to me!
Both heads (alongside the legs) are from the Empire Greatsword kit. Coming from 40k, the helmetless heads are 1000 times more characterful than what 40k can give me: There's even one that looks like a romance novel hunk, with hair in the wind and nice sideburns- I wanted to use that to make my officer of the fleet, but I switched to fantasy so..heh

| Busy weekend, so I did little, but I completed the Champs' upper bodies and Stirland mud the bases. I didn't quite know what colours to go with, so I choose a simple pattern; white shirts and blue vests, black and brown belts. Right-click to see a bigger image. | |

| Hey Guys, just finished my champions! As always, right-click for a bigger picture. And here's one with Le Boss I also played a game yesterday with someone form my gaming club. He had a small Dwarven warband (7 members), we played the skirmish mission. First of all, heavy armour+shield is damn hard to crack. His Leader had that, and he only got on the ground once with Otto. The brawl in the mission house was inconclusive. (1 swordsmen+Le Boss+Otto vs. his noble+ Dwarf Warrior with axe and shield) One bowman shot a flanking dwarf warrior, took him out in one got. Le Tiléan was in a crossbow duel with his quareller- inconclusive as well (but that Dwarf is now known as Le Sneaky) Han is now WS5 as he kicked a downed dwarf. That Dwarf left the warband...but came back as a Troll Slayer! | |

| It's Stirland mud dried, with Nuln oil and then a drybrush of Terminatus Stone. I put very very little glue here and there and put on dead grass.
It's mostly to try something different, I usually glue my model on the base, paint it and then do the basing with sand and such. I decided to try another method, so it make it less like they're sinking into the ground and more like they're walking over it. | |
