Now with Specialist Games dead, sourcing Mordheim miniatures will only be getting harder and harder. Sure, you could score ebay for the official GW stuff, but of course there are alternatives. There is the option of converting figures from GWs plastic kits, but for us that don't have bit boxes filled to the rims with left-overs from old projetcs or the time and skill to create these plastic constructs we have to look at other manufactureres. However finding what you want isn't that easy among all the different lines and manufacturers out there, so this is where boring tom's comes in.

I need to find myself some undead dregs. Help me! Any suggestions welcome!

And, maybe we should start a thread for exactly this, sourcing miniatures for Mordheim.

If you like, I can usually kit-bash some of my plastics to make something. PM me and I can give you some examples.

No worries. The plastic kits will provide. An example from blackasaurus (from his Ravensdale thread):

These use flagellant, zombie and orc bitz. You can also use plague monk, goblin and militia bitz. Endless possiblilities. Bitz may be obtained from many trading sites including our own.

If you prefer precast minis, Reaper has a bunch of suitable henchmen types (you have to search for them). Blue Moon (West Wind?) has a whole line for thier Vampire Wars and Empire of the Dead ranges.

One thing you might want to try is using the goblins from the Hobbit range. With some human or zombie head swaps they'd probably look really good for using as dregs.

While I'm enjoying my orc/flagellant based dregs they are rather oversized. I think that the Hobitt goblin bodies would work really as they tend to have nice deformed and hunckback type shapes to them.

Thanks! I'm not so fond of GW's current plastic kits (or their current lines of miniatures overall) so that's why I'm not so keen on converting my own from the plastic sets. Besides the only bitz I've got are the ones from my old High Elf army, which don't really work for undead dregs, so that's why I'm mostly looking at other manufacturers. And buying individual bitz from webshops would cost as much as buying metal miniatures. I'll take metal over plastic any day Smile Blackasaurus conversions however are really good!

I've looked into the West Wind range before, and the Evil henchmen look quite good:

The butcher looks particularly nice, but the rest are dressed kind of out of the appropriate period for Mordheim but still very nice.

Blackasaurus: thanks, but buying a whole box of them would prove quite expensive. And I think they look more like ghouls, that would probably work quite good. Right now I'm looking mostly at thieves or thugs of different kinds, there's nothing to say that they have to be hunchbacks. I'm thinking GW 80s chaos thugs or Lotr ruffians right now. The Lotr ruffians might be a bit small though Sad

If you are looking at thieves/thugs then Reaper or even Lead Adventure minis should have something that fits the bill.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but it seems like I really can't find what I'm looking for Sad
Reapers thugs where too big, and the henchmen were more like hirelings (you know the one that carries your stuff and who you can kill for a level in munchkin) Or it's just me, and the fact that when I get a certain picture in my head of what I'm looking for it's hard to settle for something else. I promise to post some pictures when I finally decide on which miniatures to use though!
