New to Mordheim

I'm Jon, been playing WFB for ages, me and some of the other guys I play with are thinking of starting Mordheim. Just thought I'd stick my plan for my Skaven warband on here to get some feedback.

I haven't done names yet, but will edit when I do.

Assasin Adept, Brace of Warplock pistols

2 x Black skaven with fighting claws

1 Eshin Sorcerer with sling

2 night runners slings

5 Verminkin with slings

496 GC

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the welcomes. I have to say quickly, and I will post on their threads as well, anyone who hasn't looked through qc's gallery and the building of Dunbough must do so. These are two of the most inspirational logs I have seen for any system!

Also I had my first game today. Skaven against Mercs. I won the game as he failed his first Rout test. we both learnt a lot very quickly. Firstly it seems that this is very much dominated by close combat, our shooting was pretty much pointless. Secondly critical hits are brutal!!!! And thirdly, I can roll more 6s than him! LOL

All in all we enjoyed the game. If anyone could let me know if wood elves have an official list? And could direct me towards it? Finally (I will post in the rules section too) can you hit in shooting on worse than a 6 after modifiers? Or is this treated as an impossible shot?

The Wood Elves are an Unofficial War Band. Here's Mordheimer's list:

Don´t know if its in the rules but a hit more difficult than 6 is handled as following:

You throw dice as normal for hitting and take every 6 and roll them again. The needed result of the second throw is like in this table.

7+ => 4+
8+ => 5+
9+ => 6
10+ => impossible

For example you need a to-hit of 7+. You get a 6 and roll again, if the 6-following roll will give a 4+ you hit, otherwise you miss. Hope you understood what I mean its pretty hard for me to explain it in english

It was in the rules for WHFB back in 6th Edition, the time Mordheim was released, so I guess its in the rules.

That's what we thought, but weren't sure, that's in the 8th edition rules too. Is there a FAQ with that in?

Officially a 6+ to hit when shooting is counted as an impossible shot in Mordheim.

Using the WHFB rules for hitting on a 7, 8 and 9 as mentioned by Jerry_O would be a house rule. However, there definitely are some gaming groups who do use that house rule within Mordheim and like it.
