I noticed, while looking at original Mordheim models, that Marienburg Captain (2nd model) has a rifle across his back?! How is this possible when rules don't allow that?! Am I missing something or it's just a omission to the modeler?

I think it's just a sculptor's touch on the miniature, to add a bit of character and rapresent Marienburg richness....

Likely it's just an omission from the modeler. GW is notorious for it's poor communication between different staff. Plus, with the right combination of skills, it's not that difficult to see a Captain with a Handgun. That equipment availability was always strange to me: If they can get black-powder pistols, why can't they get handguns? scratch
