Commissar DaBank and his Last Chancers were ordered to go search out a down Chaos Renegade shuttle. The Chaos shuttle had be seriously damaged during a day light attack on the Governor’s Palace.
Commissar DaBank was peering through his scanner to see smoke rising up from some damage buildings in a residential area about 4 clicks away. LT Dan said, “This is going to be light frying up shrimp in a skillet.” Commissar DaBank barked orders to Lt Dan and Lt Kage to get the men ready and to move out right away and head for the smoke.
As the Last Chancers came close to the wreckage they got into position in three different groups to attempt to flank the Renegades.
The Chaos Renegades had begun to stumble out of their crashed shuttle and some moved into position but some were still too daze to move at all.
It didn’t take long for shots to be fired. It was close quarters shooting and each man knew his life depended on how well he was shooting.
Commissar DaBank moved forward straight toward the enemy shuttle with Lt Dan, Lt Kage and two troopers. Commissar Andy decided to let the other four men lead the way so he could “direct traffic” from his position.
There were 5 troopers who were flanked to the far right side and moved forward under the cover of a ruined building. The cover was not good enough as the Chaos Renegades had a sniper already in position and he began to open fire. Pvt G. Pyle was hit but thank the Emporer his helmet save his life.
On the far left Sarge Rock and Sarge Paper moved in with two troops and their buddy Pvt George Michael with the flamer.
On the far left the Renegades had two troopers, PVT Toaster Struddel and a Psyker.
Immediately the flamers went after each other. It was like two magnets draw together. Flames and the strong smell of Promethium filled the aired. It burnt the lungs of those around. Both Pvts were immune to the toxic fumes as they were used to it.
Pvt George Michael pulled out his nozzle and flamed on Pvt Toaster Struddel but Pvt Struddel moved out of the way. Pvt Struddel then fired as Pvt Michaels and scored a direct hit on his Promethium tanks which subsequently blew into tiny bits. Eerily, in the background you could hear, “Don’t wake me before to gogo as I don’t plan on going solo.”
It was a hard blow on the Last Chancers and Pvt Michaels had been a valiant and valuable flamer in their group.
The assault continued on and the Chaos Renegades began to take on heavy loses and retreated from the battlefield.
Another victory for Commissar DaBank and his motley group of Last Chancers.
