Ed's Reiklanders

Just wanted to share my Reiklander Warband.
It is a work in progress and I still need to create many of my henchmen. I will include a lot of black powder (cause it looks very cool).

VERY, VERY WELL DONE!
The Lads are all BEAUTIFULLY painted & based. I love the way you did the skin tones on the Ogre...looks like he mugged the plastic G.W. Giant. GREAT STUFF!

Great warband! The bright colors are totally different from your Undead warbnd but fit the Reikländer very well. Now I'd like to see some closeups of the other minis!

Nice warband. I hate the plastic ogres the have no peronality and they're difficult to convert. You've managed to give yours some personally. Well done! The skin tone is excellent. What is that creature tied to the ogre's belt?

It's the goat wineskin bit from the giant sprue IIRC.

Wow! That's a very colourful and characterful band! I really enjoy seeing a group of miniatures with different sizes and heights. It adds realism to it. Well done with the paintjob, they really look great!

Great skintones! Very alive! As for the kitbashing, that's catachan arms you've used, right? From the Jungle fighters box or the Command box? I would like to know as I'm planning to perhaps use them for a 40K penal legion, and it's nice to have size comparison possibilities...

Thanks everyone for your comments. This is a very encouraging forum. I'll post some more closeups soon and add minis as I create them.

Folketsfiende, the arms are definately catachan and are pobably in the jungle fighters box. I got them years ago in a plastic kit containing guard, orks and mutations in order to make mutants. GW don't have that kit anymore but I'm pretty sure those pieces are in the jungle fighters box.

Great looking warband Ed. I like all the details on the Ogre and the painting all round is top notch! Your Undead bunch are pretty damn cool also.

I am nearly finished this warband. Just my captain, a champion and one more henchmen left to paint. Yew!
I'll post them as I complete them then put up some group shots.

I think they both look great, but the second one, with the grey beard is my favorite. You really should think about drilling out the barrels of the guns though - it will look even better!

I on the other hand like the one with the Hulk Hogan tache best!

This warband is gonna look awesome when finally finished!

I concur on this point. Since it wouldn't require a repaint, it is something to consider. A #60 or 62 drill bit would do the job nicely; just be sure to tape a starting spot (dead center)...a push pin works nicely for this.
