PostSubject: Chaos Engine   Tue 16 Oct 2012 - 20:51

So I am still preparing my Chaos Dwarfs for the new campaign. Still tweaking the band, lets see how that goes, but some things will not change. The Chaos Engine! And I have been building one Smile

It's not as Chaosy as it should maybe be, not sure might add some stuff but I like it a lot as it is. And it is usable for other stuff as well, Dwarfs, Empire and whatnot. Used a bunch of different sources for the model. Ziterdes bits, Grenadier bits, some old stuff I am not even sure where I got it. The Cage is opentopped, maybe not the most realistic but looks way better. The backside is magnetized so the Cage comes off. Making room for other options. Shooter deck, Cannon/mortar Deck, anything you can think off. But for now the Cage will do. I made it so the cage can be put on 2 different ways, I can put the driver right behind the Boiler in the slot thingie. But then the Cage seems a bit far back. So if I turn it around, as in the pics, the Chaos Engine is more compacter and I made a highseat for the driver.

Anyways I hope you enjoy it, I had fun making it Smile

That is a VERY cool, creative, & imaginative Gizmo; while it might not scream Chaos, it sure looks Dwarven to moi. VERY WELL DONE! thumbsup

You could make your Gun Platform fit both on top of the cage AND by itself on the chassis..the more options the better. What a Face

Wonderful... and very inspiring...

I am myself looking to build an engine and I'm not a good modeler... This engine look simple enough for me to ''copy'' ( it will not be as cool but still)...

Thx for sharing !

@Gogutlin

This guy his website is back-up finally, and he has an awesome model perfectly suited for a CE, check it out.

Just need to somehow make a cage, or simply assume the engine has room inside. And some parts like the wheels can even be bought separate.

Cheers

AWESOME steam tractor You have. I like a pile of possibility which can go with it.
Personally I need to ask You did You consider to build some wagons as part of a
road train or similar,it can be fun if You make some special wagons for example
with some guns on it,or for wood or coal, for transporting troops, goods, livestock,
stones for some distant stronghold which was damaged somehow etc

Salute

Ya making a train with several wagons is possible ofourse, I didnt really think about it since I do not play WHFB Chaos Dwarves and for Mordheim it's not needed. But it would be very cool yes...and infinitely cheaper then Forgeworld, even though their models are pretty good prices are way to high (Imo).

As far as other real practical use I might get out of it. I could make alterations for a Steamtank conversion. Or Cannon, Grudgethrower, Flamethrower platform. Or even a steampunk 40k Ork Looted Wagon/truck/Battlewagon...maybe a Lobba platform. Plenty of options, if I do get around to it I will post any pics here, so much projects always waiting for attention =)
