Hey guys! Need your knowledge of miniatures. I'm planning to include a model with a handheld mortar in my Gunnery School of Nuln, and want some suggestions on what models or bits I can use. Please post pics and/or links to interesting stuff!

I am trying to imagine a handheld mortar that isn't recent technology. Being indirect/longer range than a firearm they were rather large. American Civil War mortars were portable but still wagon or cart sized. Maybe wielded by an ogre? Shocked

The Handheld Mortar is one of the GW Empire's newer silly inventions (Warhammer 7th edition). Naturally it is not a mortar at all, but fires a large caliber projectile that is S 6. A plastic version is included with the Pistoleir sprues.

What you're probably looking for is a weapon called the "Grenade Launching Blunderbuss", which is one of the specialty weapons available to Outrider champions and Master Engineers. Here's a link from an Ebay auction that gives a pic of what I'm talking about:

Thanks! I know about the outrider one, but is there any other fitting bit or model anywhere that could be used?

EDIT: actually there once was an Ostlander model available holding a small mortar, but it's OOP now...

You could take a simple rifle (from tsome kit like this http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440091a&prodId=prod20040 ), cut the barrel and use green stuff to add a ball and a cilinder. Easy and home made. In this way you'll chose the caliber you prefere for your hand-held mortar. :-)

Aha, interesting... thanks for the tip!

@drakkol: Well, since I'm far from proficient in the use of GS, I think I'm better of buying some bits... not everyone has your skills!
