Hello, Greetings and er, Hello. Empty
PostSubject: Hello, Greetings and er, Hello.   Hello, Greetings and er, Hello. Icon_minitimeTue 19 Jun 2012 - 13:56

Hello, I thought it was time to introduce myself, after all, it's rude to just lurk.

I'm normally found on the web under the name of Berk, but someone had already taken that name. Crying or Very sad So I have decided to use my backup name.

I'm a 28 year old gamer that first got into The Hobby(TM) at the age of 10, I started with Warhammer and Blood Bowl where I developed a love for our green skinned beasties. Hello, Greetings and er, Hello. 387809 As I grew I came to fall in love with the stout Dawi.
My friends and I drifted from the hobby a bit as we got older but the release of Mordheim saw us return to gaming and a few confused campaigns followed as we got to grips with the game.

Alas, years passed and we left The Hobby(TM), until about 2 years ago while clearing out all my crap from my mothers loft I found my Dwarf army and the various mutilated 'conversions' that younger Amheir had attempted. This time around I was in a long term relationship and managed to get my fiancée I love you in to the game, starting with painting and then helping her to start an Ogre army. I always had a mind to get her playing Morndheim, and this was realised last month when I found my old mercenary warband (or what was left of it).

So now we get to why I'm here. I decided to start looking around at the resources available for the game and found this forum amongst others. I'll admit though, I was nearly put off due to the layout, but after giving my eyes a rest I came back and dived in to find the wealth of information there is within. study This, along with the friendly community got me to sign up and lurk further, all the time hacking away at some dense cardboard I, er, acquired from school 12 years ago for this purpose (so glad I never threw it away over the years) making terrain for our games.

So, here I am, we've currently got 4 warbands made up of whatever models I could dredge up, Beastmen, Dwarfs, Reiklanders and Orcs. Our first game was played with DVD cases, plant pots, 'In trays' and whatever else we could find. Hence the need for a mad fortnight making terrain.

Now, what have I left out? Ah yes, I'm currently residing in Shropshire, we have a Jack Russell Terrier that we got from a rescue shelter, I love to cook, I have a ~7 inch goatee that I've been proudly growing for 3 years, and I'd get a slap if my fiancée was here as I'm meant to be tidying the house ready for guests on Thursday prior to getting married on Saturday. lol! Though I'm hoping to get a game of Mordheim in on Saturday morning with my Best Man before we go to the registry office. Cool

Welcome aboard!
My fiancée an i have been playing Mordheim with my younger cousin and one of our friends for a little while now, and it kicks the hell out of watching TV together (Not that we have a TV Wink ).

Oh, and i have to ask: what's with the (TM) after "the Hobby"? Smile

Thank you all for the welcomes.

Stronzo, the (TM) is of course for Games Workshops use of The Hobby (they wish they could trademark the words) to describe their product, as they see it, and partly to indicate that I played GW games rather than other systems.

Citizen Sade, if I'm up early enough it will definitely be on the cards.

Von Kurst, she definitely is, not to mention the cup of tea in bed every morning. Very Happy
