Thanks Alan!

I have finished painting another three models - this completes the "first wave" of the army. I'm pretty happy with them considering I have built and painted all of them in September.

Deathwatch Librarian Tybalt

Deathwatch Dreadnought - Brother Incanus

Assault Cannon & Powerfist Terminator (The first member of Deathwatch Kill Team Grigorius)

Acolyte Librarians

A pair of "civilian" low-level Adeptus Mechanicus characters for the Library of Tchi-thams in Mancunius Dome, assistants to Hagel the Librarian.

There are many rumour about the mysterious and heavily fortified Tchi'thams Library. Some speculate that the tomes held within are dangerous heretical books of daemon summoning and binding, or a near-complete STC: printed on ancient yellowing paper and leather-bound. Others blithely state that they are merely ancient historical records dating from the dawn of the Imperium. Either way the local populace like to talk about it occasionally but rarely make any effort to find the truth.

One of the Acolyte Librarians has had a slight modification as I needed his open hand for another model! (I think it looked a bit weird anyway)

The model that needed his hand: I tried to make the classic "whispering advisor" pose for my #GenestealerCult Primus.

The hand looks a little too far from his mouth but the arm looked really awkward when I tried to get it closer.

(I've done a bit of greenstuff work since taking these photos - I've added a wrist-strap to his communicator.)

Thanks Alan!

LordIgnatiusVult and I recently did a bits exchange (organised via Instagram messages) and he included a letter, from one his characters to one of mine, with the packet of bits he sent me:

I was so impressed by the idea, I sent a reply (and even though I'd sent my package ages before they both arrived together):

(I aged both letters by swabbing them with used tea bags and drying them over a gas hob, then dripped some red and brown ink on them and dried them again. I also added the wax seals to both).

There is still some clean-up to be done on all of these before undercoating but I hoe to start painting them this week.

Inspired by this little known John Blanche page I have decided to make a handful of model from each of three Necromunda gangs: The Skinny-men (Van Saar), The Gothermogs (Escher) and the Slipgibbets (Scavvies) as NPCs for Mancunius Dome games.

This is the first test model for the Van Saars:

Abraham Moss

It's a fairly simple kitbash, with no cutting or greenstuff work needed at all: Genestealer Cults Neophyte Hybrid torso and legs. Space Wolves Pack head. Adeptus Militarum Tempestus Scions arms and Hotshot Lasgun. A small skull clipped from a Terminator badge to cover the Genestealer glyph.

Except for the loincloth, he does have the Van Saar look...although a chunky one. Other than that, LOOKIN' GOOD!   thumbsup

Nice kitbashing. You say "no cutting ... needed at all", but you are still going to get rid of the mouldlines, right?

Thanks Alan. I quite like that he is chunkier than the old Van Saar sculpts. I always thought they were too skinny, which is also why I picked Van Saars to apply the "Skinny-men" gang name to, as it has a touch of irony! ;-)

@Grimscull - I have scraped them as much as I can. Considering this is a new kit and should not be worn out yet, this model had a *lot* of mold lines!! I don't seem to be as bothered by them as a lot of folk are either - my eyes are going a bit and this guy seems very tiny!

More WIP Deathwatch Dark Angels. This time a totally close-combat orientated squad.

They are made of parts from several different kits: Deathwatch weapons, torsos and backpacks (and one head), Dark Angels backpacks, heads and torsos, Sternguard legs.

The Squad looks WONDERFULLY sinister. One of the things that G.W. does a fine job on is producing plastic parts that can be interchanged in innumerable ways to produce unique models....VERY NICE kit bashing!   thumbsup

I have finally got round to starting work on some more Underhive scenery for Mancunius Dome!

(I keep starting new things, when I should be making underhive scenery.... "I'll just finish *this* batch of models, *then* I'll get started on the scenery.." he said, every day for 6 weeks.)

I've been staring at the photos of the Curse of the Alabaster game for inspiration....

That looks very promising. The terrain (and minis) in your Link are ... unsettling. But cool nonetheless.

LOOKIN' GOOD...well actually it looks run down & probably set in a disreputable area, but that is good for Necromunda. It's coming along in FINE FASHION. GREAT WORK!   thumbsup
