| Hey guys and gals, spent a bit of time lurking around here and thought it about time I sign up, usually a Witch Hunter player ive decided to make a new warband! Mechanically they will be Middenheim Mercs, but my idea behind them is that the Bloodbowl team Aldorf Allstar's tour coach broke down just outside of Mordheim and they have been forced to fend for themselves in the City of the Damned. I feel the +1str on the charge is very fitting of a Blood Bowl teams combat style! Pretty much im posting this idea up for some input on how to model these guys, so far im thinking Empire State troops with GS shoulder pads and the American Football style bar across the helmet. I still have a lot of Free company and flagelant bits from my Witch Hunters so they will have some of those thrown in as well so show they have scavenged weapons etc. So my main question is this the best way to go about it? Ive also considered using Greatswordsmen, but find them too staticly posed. I heard somewhere about using 40k Cadians too but unsure on that. Any input would be greatly appriciated and once I get round to making them (Payday ) ill post up some pics and WIP. Thanks in advance! Oh and also what to do for the main hero, Team Coach or Star Player? | |

| Hi G.G.! WELCOME ABOARD Fearless Leader Tom's Yet Occasionally Cool Nonetheless Mordheim Forum. Have a FUN stay! It's an interesting idea; with their in-your-face approach to life, I would think that either the Middenheimers or the Pit Fighters would be a good match to the Blood Bowl Guys. Model-wise you could just add some weaponry to the B.B. minis...I'm sure someone will chime in with some more creative ideas. | |

| Sounds like a fun idea! As for models I suggest checking the bits sellers out, and grab sprues from different imperial and other kits. There are loads of interesting combos and poses out there waiting to be found. For some rough and ready brawlers I suggest the use of marauder legs with torsos from Empire kits. Cadians does not seem a perfect fit to me. | |

| First off, I really like this idea.
I agree about the cadians not being the best fit. The posability is a plus but I fear you would be doing far more GS'ing then you want. That being said, have you though of just kitbashing the human Blood Bowl team itself as they look positively suited for it an one would figure they go for the equipment they know best first. Then alls you would have to do is use GS and plasticard to make weapons and any sort of embelishment you may want.
And they are already kind of set for easy cross over as well. A Blitzer can be the Captain, Passers be your Champions, and your Catchers your Youngloods (as they are just one step below blitzers), then you can use the linemen for you warriors. If you just got the human set from GW that give you all your heroes and 8 warriors with 3 spare models to boot.

| I played around with the idear of a BloodBowl team in Mordheim a fe years back Never got around to it though. I would, as others have, suggest the human team as base for the warbands. Maybie even the plastic one, for easyer convertions, if you can get your hands on it. Good luck and keep us updated | |

| Thanks for the replies guys, yeah a big no to the cadians I had just read about it somewhere and thought it may have been an option. Ive been doing some more looking about and the Bloodbowl team minitures are probably the best for this, the plastics are too static posed for my liking but the metal ones are great! With a few hand swaps and things they would look awesome BUT to buy new they are £41.00.... Whereas the State troops are £15. If I can find the metal figures on Ebay for cheap ill grab em if not then looks like either state troops or Bitzbox and kit bash my own, will wait til payday and see how much Ive got left EDIT: Just looked on Bitzbox and it is out of stock of everything! What decent bits sites do you guys use? | |

| Ah thanks for the recomendations ill have a browse and yep ill be using this ogre here- http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat490003a&prodId=prod2020003 and Mordhiem him up suitably! The reason im doing altdorf is that I could think of a suitable name for them and I enjoy the colour scheme, not a big fan of Middenheim itself really so just using it for the charge bonus. If anyone else has some other fun Bloodbowl names to share or colour schemes Ill take them on board! So far the idea was red under clothing with blue armour (Chipped and scraped to show the metal beneath) or the other way round depending on how it looks as Altdorf is red/blue. EDIT: Damn it! Ok I give in! Ill buy the GW team, now Ive thought of having this guy - http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat490011a&prodId=prod1560077 run around holding a piece of Wyrdstone I really want that team Will order them on the 24th and keep you guys posted! Also will have a scenery and board making blog up this weekend hopefully | |

| One way you could go is with Chaos Marauders. Their poses have a Blood Bowl look to them, and they all have that really muscular look to them that I think would go perfectly. They also make great pit fighter models too!
Good Blood Bowl team names: Reikland Reavers/Raiders, Hochland Headhunters, Carroburg Cardinals, Bechafen Blitzers, Weismund Warriors... all kinds of alliteration!

| Yep arrived yesterday as expected! Spent last night night doing some hand swaps and sticking on some extra kit, will try and get some pics up tonight or tomorrow.
Not finished yet as the main communal bits box is at my friends place and is full of additional goodness to stick on!
As for colour scheme im thinking dark red and blue under clothing with primarily brown leather armour.

| The models live up to the fluff! Nice little additions. If you have them other extraneous items like pouches, daggers, dead rabbits and the like would add some more character, but are hardly nessessary. Although I would add sheathed weapons to the catchers just to indicate that they are armed.
Where are the Captain's severed heads from?

| Nice models, and I LOVE the cheesey fluff names for them! If you're looking for name inspiration, I recommend watching the MST3K episode "Space Mutiny" for the jock names they give Reb Brown's character. Things like "Roll Fizzlebeef", Big McLargeHuge, Slab Gutpunch, Flex Bicep, and the like. You're gonna have SO much fun with these guys. | |

| Lovely models and cool names! I really like the way you used their poses, it look really dynamic and powerful. I also like the guy with the blunderbuss, very cool conversion there Will you make the bases resemble a bloodbowl field? | |

| Thanks for replies guys! To answer the questions- Pouches and daggers are being added today and the heads are from the Stormvermin sprue, will definitely look up Space Mutiny later too As for basing im going to go for mordheim basing rather than a Bloodbowl field, so rubble and cobblestones mainly. Look for the next update in a day or so! | |

| So unfortunatly I got caught by the terrain bug the other night and didnt manage to do that bitz rummage for the Allstars (Have made some serious progress on a 3 leveled tower/temple of Sigmar though ) So yeah that will have to wait another week or so. If anyone wants to throw around some cheesy Jock names in the mean time it will be most welcomed! Forgot to mention before but thanks Spectre76, those were great! | |

| Time spent on Terrain Building (it's an addiction you know) is still time well spent...common cause & all that. Although now you'll have to post photos of your Sigmarian Digs. For Jock Names: one of my favorite M.L.B. pitchers, Boof Bonser, comes to mind. He liked the nickname "Boof" so much he had his first name legally changed to Boof. | |
